I have about 4 cookbooks that I don't use that often only for reference. Other than that I digitally keep some recipes on the computer or I search online for healthy recipes all the time.

I'm trying to save space in my tiny apartment and extra books and paper take up space as well, if it didn't I would have a ton of cook books. I gave away a lot of cook books last year. emoticon emoticon

I usually look up recipes online now. However, I have a few cookbooks on hand as well~

I have both but will add that I rarely by new cookbooks anymore. I'll borrow them from the library instead. I have plenty of books on my shelves as it is and don't really have room for more.

Both. I love looking up recipes on the internet. I have made myself several 3 ring binders: one for appetizers, one for soups, one for meatless entrees, and one for meat entrees. Finally a dessert one. It is fun to find something different to cook.

I love a solid cook book. But i take recipes that I like from magazine or the computer, and then i type them up, and put them in my binder. Ive made my own cook book out of it,, its so awesome!

Lately I just find recipes online such as my favorite cooking magazine websites and foodie blogs and "pin" them on Pinterest. It's basically like an online recipe index that I can organize how I want.

I do have a index card box with some old recipes and I have a bunch of old cookbooks stashed in my bookshelves (and my trusty old Better Homes and Gardens cookbook which is the only one that stays in the kitchen) but for the most part I use Pinterest, Sparkrecipes, and Google. Just tonight I googled how to prepare both acorn squash and steelhead trout, neither of which I had made before. It didn't even occur to me to look in a cookbook. LOL

Most of my recipes are now in (multiple) files on my computer, though.

I have so many... I won't live long enough to try them all! But I like to share them when I find others who would test them.

Favorite family recipes are in a card file also.
I'm not so much a cookbook collector, although I do have a few. Most of my cooking books are technique books. Nice references!

I have all of it. Cookbooks, recipe files, internet folders...you name it, I have it. Most recently, though, to try to centralize everything (and keep myself from losing all of it), I have started typing the recipes into Word, which I then save on a flash drive that is solely for that purpose. I can have as many categories as I wish, I can very easily share a recipe with someone by either printing it, or emailing it within seconds.

For most of my other recipes, I have resorted to a photo box, since I use the 4x6 size recipe cards.

I've recently started using SP's "My Recipes" options on sparkrecipes.com, and I love it!

I have a bread machine, and a hobby of mine is making great bread every weekend.. so for that I have a book of incredible bread machine recipes.

For other things though I have a file that I have kept for many years with recipes that I've downloaded for things that I really like making (and obviously aren't too difficult to make).

I've also just taken a liking to risotto, and have found a couple of great recipes for that too.

A little of everything. I have a cardfile, I have a SP recipes collection where I save those favorites. I have a subscription to allrecipes.com. I buy books or magazines if I see a really good one. (Just bought a new magazine for healthy slow cooker recipes that has the family drooling). Also keep some pinterest pages where I save recipes I've found online that we've enjoyed.

All of the above in the past. Now I use SP recipe builder a lot. Or scan through the spark recipes. If it's something new that I am not sure how to cook the best way, I will google it. Almost all of my records are electronic now, though I still hang on to a few old cookbooks that came from my mom and grandmother. I have the Woman's Home Companion from the 1940's. It tells you how to pick out a good live chicken, and more. emoticon

I use an app on my iPad called "the Recipe Box" and either enter my own recipes or export from websites, simple. I have over 575 recipes so far and yes I use the app all the time. The app works as well on my iPhone.

Both . Collecting cookbook is my hobbie. At one time I had 200 cookbooks. When my Grandson got engaged I let Rachael chose as many books as she wanted. Then my other Grandson got engaged and I did the same for Katie. I really don't have room for all my cookbooks so now I get my recipes on Cooks.com and file them.

I have cookbooks that I have had for decades. But today I like to go on line and compare recipes, if they are great I will print them to be used again.

Remember to take time to enjoy the journey!

I recently "decluttered" my cookbooks, keeping my Betty Crocker cookbook and a couple of others that I use regularly.

Now I usually print out recipes that I find on line and want to try. If its good it goes in a notebook, if not it gets tossed!

Recipe file which I keep telling myself I'm going to convert to electronic, but I haven't found a good program yet.

Both - I love cookbooks but I also get a lot of recipes online that I print out - I have a drawer in my kitchen that is devoted to those recipes - not well organized, but my favorites are usually on top.

For the most part I follow food/recipe blogs so I have the files on a memory stick/flash drive or printed out and kept in a folder but I do have about 3 recipe books too. 1 book in particular I want to try make all the recipes in it for my bucket list :).

I buy cook books. I have some recipes I have pulled from magazines.

I do a little of both and I get recipes on line. I still have my recipe box I made in high school and I also collect recipe books I find interesting especially ones people do for fundraisers.

I do a little bit of both. If it's a recipe I see online, it's unlikely that I'll easily find it in a cookbook, but there are books that I really enjoy using. I have a notebook filled with recipes that I've collected through the years that I make for special occasions. All my holiday cookie recipes, and things I make for certain types of parties. It also has notes in it about substitutions and who likes what the best. It makes it easy for me to give food items as gifts.

I'll admit that I'm something of a cookbook junkie. I love buying cookbooks. So, yes, I still use cookbooks for reference.

Most times, I will do a search on google to see what turns up. I'm a big fan of epicurious.

Like many other people of a certain age, I was talk to use a recipe file too. I don't. never really like using files. My mom always used cookbooks OR recipes from the newspaper. Many of our cookbooks used newspaper recipes for bookmarks.

I keep a recipe box. I get most of my recipes from the internet, if I make it and like it I print it out and put it in my box. The box is also handy for recipes copied from friends.

I have a small file of 'favorite recipes.' But also have a large binder…and several folders on my computer w/ recipes. I should consolidate.

I copy the recipes I find online into an Evernote note book. That way I can access it on my iPad, phone, or any computer so I can know what ingredients I need to buy if I'm trying a new recipe.

I stopped buying books when I found out how many great recipes there were on the internet at the click of a button....and I can read other people's review before trying it out.

I have a collection of various coook books. For recipes I find in magazines or online, I have a 3 ring binder I put them. I use the clear sheet protectors, so when I want to make a certain recipe, I just remove it from the binder, in the sheet protector, that way it doesn't get stained or wet, on the counter, while preparing the meal.

I get most of my recipes from allrecipes.com or sparkrecipes.com. I also have a collection of cookbooks.

When I was in high school home ec we had to keep recipe files. Today a lot of people buy recipe books. I tend to do a little of both. What do you do?
