I don't have much of a problem with eating out because I have seldom eaten out. When I do, by preference it is mostly fairly good stuff anyway, apart from the very occasional treat. Things like my 94yr old stepfather loves a particular Black Forest Gateaux from a particular bakery. I take him to the Hospital, generally once every couple months, and we always stop at this particular bakery and along with my Chicken/Avocado Sandwich, we enjoy 1 piece of the Gateaux between us. It is OUR special treat :-)
I agree. Maybe I should say "watching what you eat"! I was thinking that meal planning, tracking, etc., helps one become more organized. I know it does for me. I have to really think through what I'm going to eat when I go out, should I out healthy snacks in my glove box, etc.
MJEFFERSON23....IMHO .a lot of folks are hung up with the word DIET.... if you changed your title to something like... does trying to lose weight impact other areas of your life? You might get a whole different set of responses.

Changing my lifestyle has changed some other areas in my life.
First, exercise is a priority. I make time to work out. Sometimes its inconvenient but this is my life.
Second, I'm pickier about food and where we go out to eat. I don't like fast food, not a big pizza fan and am not into cheap greasy meals. So we go out less often but to nicer places, nothing fancy but it's Red Lobster not Bubbas Fried Fish Hut!
Third, I try to plan more active time with friends: hiking vs lunch, bike rides instead of movies. Meals out are still fun but I like to be more proactive about being active.
So making healthier choices has changed a few other things but as it becomes normal it's just my lifestyle.
I don't 'diet' and have NEVER 'dieted' so it doesn't impact on my life at all :-) Instead, I eat a healthy, balanced diet. it still doesn't impact on my life because I have two choices when faced with choices. I either have whatever, OR I DON'T have it. It is my choice.
