Always think of the stereotypical college professor or Bing Crosby with a pipe! Do love the look, though.

Lay aside life-harming heaviness and entertain a cheerful disposition.

Love it. But I'm also a nerdy girl.

What I can't stand is men who dress like children - polo shirt, shorts or jeans, sneakers. Sneakers every day. Buy some shoes and some real pants, people.

I shall stay the way I am because I do not give a damn.

I have no opinion on the elbow patches, one way or the other.

nothing like smelly wrinkled clothes on a man to attract a woman, Anarie? emoticon

my boss is bad about wearing frayed shirts. I know he's frugal, but come on!

I've worked with a few guys who desperately needed to use a laundry service.

back when DH & I were just friends, he was wearing a shirt that had obvious fold marks from where it had been packaged. Of course I called him on it. And the price tag stuck on the bottom of his brand new shoes.
I guess that's why he married me...

Well, I don't like it on the jacket in the picture. Elbow patches belong on tweed, not corduroy, and there needs to be a color contrast. That jacket with leather patches on it is like wearing a leather jacket with corduroy pants.

But to tell the truth, I'm not too picky about what men wear. Most of the (single) men I know are doing good to put on something that's clean and less than 30 years old. The fashion bar is set pret-ty low...

I think its mostly up to the person and if He Likes the Look. It was popular in the 70's. Back then I weighed 115 lbs at 5'8 and wore midriff tops and hip hugger jeans, and clog shoes! Something I'd never wear now! So I can't judge.

I used to work with a guy who ALWAYS wore a jacket that looked exactly like this.
It is amazing how guy's fashion 'sense' lets you get away with so much, while women end up spending a small fortune trying to stay current in style. {those of us who care...anyway}.
I also resent the idea that free alterations to men's suits are usually standard, while women have to pay.

I don't like it at all

Made it to my maintenance weight of 125 pounds.

Even though I have reached goal. I still don't know everything about weight loss.

Back in the late 70's, it was a style, but I like the plain jacket look.

I remember several of my college professors who wore this type of jacket. I suppose this would be considered, business casual. It is very 80s Family Ties TV show. The next thing you know, Members Only jackets will make a come back. LOL

Do I find the look attractive ? I think it works better on some men than others.

They make them for women too !

I do not like the look. I did not wear it last time it was in style and will not wear it this time either. Then again, I won't wear jeans with holes in them so maybe I am just old fashioned.

Do you like the look of elbow patches on sports coats? A female colleague of mine said that it's coming back into style for men.

Personally, I do not like the look but would wear it if my girlfriend asked me to.
