I drink two cups of coffee per day no more than that or it becomes bad for me, because of to much caffeine. I also drink tea just not daily I'm trying to focus on water.

I'm surprised most answers so far are that it is okay to drink coffee and I agree with that. Still you can usually find authentic sounding "studies" and research that will support whatever viewpoint you want on this and many other "controversial" things such as artificial sweeteners. I've been drinking coffee for many years and I don't believe it is bad for me but I do agree that cutting down on caffeine in the later hours of the day is best if you want to sleep at night. I happen to drink mine black with no sweetener or creamer (0 calories). But I use plenty of artificial sweeteners in other products I consume daily and don't believe the negative hype about them either. I don't care for Sweet n low or any saccharin sweeteners but Splenda and Equal or their store brand equivalents are fine with me.

And to answer a question asked here, yes decaffeinated coffee can count as your water; so can coffee with caffeine but you will need a bit more water for your daily total, to compensate for products with caffeine. They certainly don't count as "no" water as some may believe.

I drink a cup or two of coffee each day, but track it on my nutrition tracker just like everything else. As long as it doesn't put you over range and you're still getting enough of your other nutrients, then I shouldn't think it would be an issue. However, I do agree with what some PPs about looking into what you're adding to the coffee. You may be able to find some healthier options.

Cheers! emoticon

Coffee is...necessary for life. Seriously don't mess with me before I've had my morning cup or it will be a bad day for everyone. I leisurely sip a dark roast cappuccino every morning. It's not even the caffeine, decaf's fine as long as the coffee's good. It's just the ritual of easing into the day.

I don't think coffee in itself is good or bad. I personally drink 2 cups in the morning, and rely somewhat on it to get myself going. More than that or later in the day it messes up my sleep which can be pretty bad though! So I think it depends on the person.

If someone doesn't already drink coffee, I wouldn't recommend adding it to your healthy eating plan, though, you know?

I was never allowed to have coffee as a child -- so I never liked it -- am a tea drinker.
Coffee & tea both have caffeine -- I can drink a cup of tea just before bedtime -- has never kept me awake. DH likes his coffee & starts up his Keurig before breakfast.

Coffee isn't harmful for most people, and there might even be some health benefits to it. You don't have to stop drinking it in order to lose weight (unless you drink it later in the day and it interferes with your sleep; sleep is important for weight control.)

The creamer, on the other hand, might be unhealthy. Read the label and see if contains partially hydrogenated oil of any sort. If it does, you should probably switch to a different type. You could use real dairy half-and-half, which will taste better anyway. It has about the same number of calories per tablespoon, and you might find that you use less. For some people, evaporated milk does the job, and it has the advantage of having more calcium and being slightly less expensive than most creamers. You might be happy with plain milk if you try that for a while. There are also a lot of brands of creamer that don't have hydrogenated oils. (Partially hydrogenated fat contains trans fat, which is believed to contribute to heart disease and which your body doesn't need at all. In the next 10 years or so, companies will probably have to take partially hydrogenated oil out of all food products, but right now it's still common in coffee creamers and in a lot of packaged foods like cakes and pastries. It's one food that everyone agrees is unhealthy.)
