I'll admit it. I've always wanted to try the fried twinkie. I haven't yet only because I haven't been to a fair in years. I know it would do evil things to my stomach, but you got to live dangerously at least once in your life. LOL !
Speaking of foods you'd never thought someone would fry, you might want to check out this list of fried foods found at the Texas state fair.
I've noticed, when we never tasted anything decadent before, and are on a diet, suddenly, the food item sounds so wonderful, so, we have some, and then, usually, it's very disappointing!! But, it's a good thing we tasted it, so it's out of our mind now, move on.............
Plan for tomorrow, but enjoy the heck out of today.
It is a popular dessert here. A King size Snickers bar,or 2 regular bars are deep fried in a sweet batter, topped with whipped cream or ice cream at a resturant. At the fair they are served on a stick.. I've heard people rave about how good these are. Truthfully I'm not a fan, and won't be ordering a deep fried candy bar again. I never had one before, so thought I'd give it a try .Now its on my I'll Never Do that Again List!
Great for you not eating something just because you ordered it!
Gotta tell you now that I've been eating healthier for a while, deep fried food has less & less appeal for me. It's funny because fried food used to be one of my weaknesses, but now I wouldn't order it because I know it would taste too heavy and greasy for me.

If I was going to eat Snickers (which would be an extremely rare choice for me, but a possibility if it was counted in my plan) I sure would want it plain, not fried in some greasy battered stuff or however they do it. I have heard of fried oreos and stuff like that. Maybe I have been health conscious for too long because I could easily overindulge on common foods without feeling I had to batter and fry foods that are already too rich and fat and calorie filled.

That is actually quite common, and they are sold in some Take-Away shops here. I don't know about yours, but here they are dunked in batter and deep fried. All I can say is: Rich, Rich, and Richer, and Calories, calories and MORE calories.
It is sometimes done with scoops of ice-cream too.
Today is hubbys birthday so went to a resturant for dinner. I did ok ordering the fish dinner. Afterwards when the waiter suggested dessert, he chose bread pudding and never having fried snickers I chose to give it a try since this was a treat and something I normally don't eat. The dessert arrived looking nicely presented topped with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. My mouth watered at the sight! After a few small bites YUCK! I couldn't eat it! Brought it home, so maybe he can have it tomorrow as a snack, or tossing it away.
