Hear hear!

Cheese vs. chocolate was not the question!

The soup thread was not about your personal favorite soup!

I guess I don't generally mind the emoticons, but I find it really disrespectful when people don't even bother to read the original post. Disrespectful and ANNOYING!

I started out with emoticans because at first I didn't think anyone would really want to know what I thought. I usually post a message now as I am comfortable with this site. I am older and social media is very new to me. Until SparkPeople I would have never posted anything. I barely use my phone to text!

I'm also not thrilled when they post an emoticon as a response to your blog that really has nothing to do with the blog itself. Seriously you can't take a minute for a quick response? I also wish there was something they could do about the one word replies, or posting for points. This is a conversation folks. Do you do that in the real world?

BLUENOSE63 - lol. I am referring to the chocolate/cheese post, sort of, but I see it so often that people don't pay attention and just post a reply for the points. Which is one reason I don't use the message boards often.
Anyway, thanks to those who actually take the little bit of time to read.

I know that you are referring to the chocolate and cheese question you asked ....great question by the way. I true find people often skip the OP question and merely read the last post.

It would be nice if the site was coded such that there was a minimum amount of characters required for posts outside of the games forum.

I hear you!!

I'm not a gambler, but I've got a nickel that says *some people* will see that topic "Just For Points" and start posting those emoticons, thinking they're supposed to just post for points. And never read the original post. sigh.

If you want to post for points, go to the Game Room, people.

YUP - don't get me started on the people that just post an emoticom. I left the message boards for a long time because of abuse of the system.

Is it really that hard to just read the first actual post for the topic? Some of us actually read the message boards for help or just for interesting discussion topics. I prefer to read the original post so that I don't look like a dumbass when I answer the question. Some people actually post questions and topics to see others' opinions.
For those who just read the topic title and answer based on that - just to get your 5 points for that post- Buzz off. You're not putting in any real effort there. If you won't read the original post because you're too lazy to take the 3 seconds it takes to get there or you don't have time or whatever your excuse is. Please find another game.
