I don't have resolutions, I have "goals" and I am making short term goals and long term goals and will revisit the goals every 3 months to update and cross off the ones that I do. My bucket list is "getting healthy" last year was spent in chemo treatments and radiation due to breast cancer. I have been told I am cancer free, so focusing on doing all the needed testing and eating right and yes "losing weight". Finances are really bad due to the loss of the job due to the restrictions from the surgery, But all will be fine and I believe, day by day, things will improve.
Keeping faith and having faith in God helps a lot.

Hope all are staying warm.

I have not really made resolutions this year. I think if I Pray each day and love with all my heart the people in my life and aim to accomplish my goals, all works out in life.

My resolve is stronger now than ever! It's fun to have a fresh, new burst of resolve, to remember again what you want and to have another chance to start again.

If I kicked the bucket now, I'd die happy. But there are still things I'd love to do! :)

Thanks for the check-in question!

Of course my goal is to lose weight in the end BUT my most important item on my bucket list as they are asking for is to be MORE aware of what I am doing. Yes, it is still going strong. I am tracking everything and I ordered my SPAT and I love to see what progress I am making. I am so much more aware of what I am doing and it has helped me eat more sensible and I want that tracker on so I can see how much I am really doing instead of what I think I am doing. So yes, I feel good about my goals. Good Luck!

I let my resolutions totally go by the wayside last year. So this year my resolution was to keep last years resolutions. lol
One of those, of course, is to lose the weight which is why I'm back on Sparkpeople. Strangely the people here, whom I've never met, help keep me accountable more so than the ones I see every day.
I changed my goal from pounds lost (which actually there is a goal there) to sizes down and a time frame for each size to be reached. My first goal is down at least 1 dress size (preferably 2) by my birthday in April. This probably seems low, but I have lost total control of myself and admittedly am have some difficulty regaining that control. Believe me, I will be thrilled and super motivated if I reach that goal!!
All that to say, it's a slow start, but I haven't given up yet.

I don't make resolutions (let your yes be yes, and your no be no). I also don't call it "The Bucket List" because I don't plan on kick in' it anytime soon! emoticon

So what I want for this year is a more balanced diet and more learning from YHWH, and what I want for "someday in the potential future fun" is a trip to Kansas City or metro DC.

As for the eating better this year, so far so good--regular progress, moderate, consistent changes.
As for last year's long term list I got all this cool stuff:
TV appearances (small stuff-fun!)
Public speaking engagements
And wish granted 1/11/14: public teaching engagement to a packed room! Whoo hoo!

God is good ALL of the time! Ty God! amen. emoticon

My goals are still on the table and not in the trash. I am still working my plan to be at my goal weight by the end of spring. I want to work on it slowly so that when I reach my goal I can maintain without being on a diet all the time.

The pace is constant I do think that I am not as fired up as I was when I first started. I get up every week day and work out for at least 45 minutes but I know that I want to make it an hour but that last 15 minutes in the bed, I want that. My eating is still going good. I will just be glad when I can get outside and play around, walk and hike . It is winter time in the Ohio Valley, so to go outside is not smart but I am going to try to when I get off from work today because it is a nice day.

Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.

Pretty good. I have lost 4 lbs this month, leaving me to only have 10 more to go before I hit my goal weight. At this point, I have signed up for 1 5K and am looking at others to fulfill the goal of running in 3-5 this year.

Had to deal with a couple of colds but I'm back on board! Also, got a new, more accurate scale and had to admit to more pounds but I'm not letting that get me down. The weight was there whether I new it or not. I simply reset my goals. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Excellent! I started mid December to get a head of the holidays and it worked. For the first time in a long time I didn't gain a pound over the holidays and am starting to lose.

We can do this....together.

I did not make a written list this year as I have done in the past, instead I have made a mental list of items to get done by a certain date: Since we just moved I have until Easter to get unpacked, End of Feb. to have taxes done, and I will not be buying any junk food to put in the pantries in the new house. All in all I have started the year off well and have vision to improve not only my health but my stress factor also.

Be a good steward. I need to take care of all that God has given me.

I did make a list, decided I wanted everything new this year. New job, car, house, clothes....basically life! Start the new job February 3 and have been car shopping so I am on track. Oh and new doesn't mean brand new, just new to me.

My resolution was to try at least one new activity or adventure each month in 2014. (I also have food and exercise goals and strategies, but those are continuing Spark SMART goals). I have tried ONE new adventure activity so far, I'm right on target! (went geocaching with friend)

My first resolution is to complete all treatments for my breast cancer. That is in progress until April with radiation treatments.

My bucket list involves purging the house of unnecessary items, reading some books (on my kindle), and enjoying time with husband and cat. Ongoing

I hope to return to exercise classes after surgery and radiation.

My new item is Yoga - Meditation Through Motion

I am on my way to better health!

Keep up the positive atttitude. I have already encountered a setback in the 2 and a half weeks I have been at this. I read something that really helped me. It said "Do you want to look back in a month and say, wow look what I accomplished, or do you want to look back and have regrets?" I wish you the best. You can do this, WE can do this!

I can't believe it is already 01/17/2014! The time seems to go by slow but looking back I have already made so many changes in the last 2 and a half weeks. I have lost 8lbs and can feel my clothes are fitting better. Excited to do my 1 month measurements to see how many inches I will have lost on the first of Feb.

I have made diet changes that I could not have forseen, learned more about nutrition and that it takes working on nutrition and putting in the exercise to get healthy.

#1 result so far is that I have been almost 3 weeks depression free! Considering I had been in a 5 month bed ridden depression, THIS IS AMAZING! I know that working out is the direct cause of this. For someone who has battled mental illness ALL of my life, I am finally seeing a light at the end of the tunnel and am excited to keep up this journey!

This year, I didn't make any resolutions and I don't have a "Bucket List", although I may give some thought to creating one. The difficult thing for me is going to be figuring out what is reasonable given my situation (marriage, finances ...)

I created a bucket list, but due to personal and family issues this past year or so, I really haven't been able to cross anything off my list, although I'm working on the "getting healthy" item. Much of my stumbling blocks is in the financial area (trips and such cost money), but it'll all work out. I lost my job last summer only to find a much better one ... but, I'm playing catch-up financially right now. Looking for a part time job to do on the side, but can't seem to find one. Not sure if it's my age or my weight or what. But, I'm sure something will come along. Everything always has a way of working out in the end. Maybe it's time to go back and take a new look at that bucket list. emoticon

The last six months or so have been a bump in the road for me. The fact that I am saying that is a positive thing. Prior to this I would not have considered it a bump but a failure. That means that my resolution is going well to perceive this as a life long commitment to a lifestyle change. It has always been hard for me to accept setbacks and consider them only as set backs - I tend to allow them to be overwhelming and give up. So I believe the fact that I realize this is not an overwhelming issue and just a bump as good news.

I started my path last August and have done well. I hit horrible real life snags and instead of just giving up and going to comfort food, I realized this is what life is all about. I decided to go to maintenance for a while if I need to (still logging in all food) and I'd worry about losing weight when I had time to stop and breath again.

If you don't love yourself....how can you expect others to.

I've actually exceeded my expectations at this point! I'm doing better than I had planned.

Time to stop trying to solve things with food (lack of included) that food won't solve. Food solves one thing: bodily hunger.

I have actually done very well with my resolution to get healthy. I also have a good reason to get healthy I am 6 months in remission from my thyroid cancer and my hubby is a huge motivator and is doing it with me.

Suck it up and one day you won't have to suck it in!!!

Hebrews 12:11
No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Life doesn't have a remote, you have to get up and change it yourself.

If it is not challenging you, then it is not changing you.

A lot of people start the New Year gung-ho with their resolutions
and then fizzle out by the end of the 2nd week.

DID YOU MAKE A RESOLUTION LIST OR A BUCKET LIST emoticon
AND HOW IS IT GOING emoticon
