I agree with the previous poster, I don't use the SP meal plan, but I do plan my meals. Every Sunday we sit down and plan the menu for the week, so we can go grocery shopping. And then during the week we put each meal in SP so we can track. It works really well for us.

I do not follow the menu plan that this site offers, but I follow my own. I write out my meals that I plan to eat for the week, in my hand written food journal. I write it in pencil, in case something comes up, and I need to change/adjust something.
No, i just try to eat a healthy mix of foods and stay within my calorie range.

how i track my food for the day. i make my usual omelet and all its ingredients. then i feed it in the chart and see how many calories , etc i used. then i key what i would like for lunch, see if it is fessible and then i adjust it to make sure there is too many calories or fats, etc., i do the same for dinner. i decide what i would like to have then make adjustments if i need to and then eat it. snack. i add as i have them. sugar free pudding, yogurt, nuts or a sugarfree peice of brownie or cake. as long as i dont go over my calories and or course my fruit is usually added to breakfast, lunch or dinner. it works good for me.

I eat vegetarian/vegan pretty much with a little fish and chicken thrown in sometimes so planning a menu isn't all that necessary for me! I eat fruit, vegetables, beans, whole grains, plant based food so I just eat what I like since I'm a creature of habit when it comes to food~

I followed what I thought was healthy eating, just using the SparkPeople tracker, and lost 20 pounds last year. But starting in October, I plateaued.
This past Feb. 14, in desperation, I began following the SparkPeople Menu, as it comes on my phone. I seldom make any deviation and when I do, it is because I unexpectedly ran out of-- say, low-cal bread, and substitute an equal calorie amount of low-cal Thomas's English muffin. Or the lettuce is bad and I substitute spinach. I log everything in the SparkPeople tracker.
And since Feb. 14 I've lost an additional 15 pounds! Wow! I've lost almost as much in a little over a month as I did ALL of last year! And with no confusion or obsession! I feel so free.
I even shake my head and laugh a little at some of the menu items, like roasted beets for a snack. But I do it! I think I don't have time for all this, I am working, going to school, have kids, husband, parents... But I do it anyway! I plan ahead and pack my food to go!
It is working! I am filled with happiness to have a closer guarantee of success if I just quit whining and do it! My poor knees are so relieved.

PS: And no, SparkPeople, I still loathe beets. And I eat them anyway!!! And broccoli makes me gassy. But I eat it, too. But your strawberry-walnut-balsamic salad is amazing. And the egg-white breakfast sandwiches. You guys rock. Keep having me try new things.
Not really. past I've used Jenny Craig during my tax season b/c I tend to gain weight during the winter and eat/sleep poorly Jan-April. I may join up again so I don't need to deal with the stress of figuring out meals (Live alone, so it's harder to plan)
