Headaches can be from too low a caloric intake, lack of water etc.

Ask for your money back on this, yet another new "diet book". Or add it to the pile of other diet books you have bought, began, and than couldn't stay on............don't worry, you are not the only one!

Plan for tomorrow, but enjoy the heck out of today.

I experienced this on the Ideal Protein Diet, which also asks that you cut carbs down dramatically, and calories. That diet worked very well for me, but was not sustainable as the calories were too restricted and it required a weekly weigh in before I could order more food. And the food was expensive. It is like going through withdrawal and they warn you about that in the literature--that for up to 4 or 5 days you may feel really crummy and sick. Also, the food was mostly soy based which messed with my hormones. But the Virgin diet so far has been fine--I don't feel the same flu-like symptoms as starting up the Ideal Protein diet.

And even though I was not fully up to speed on the first week as I had not yet bought the book, I still lost 6 lbs and felt great. So I started afresh this week, and so far, so good. It is like a fog has lifted and I can think clearly again. The weight loss is just a bonus. Every attempt at losing weight and or getting healthy teaches me something, and I hope to learn what foods make me feel good and which don't on the Virgin Diet. It's a journey with no destination, only a constant effort to keep improving.

Hi Sharon

I agree that talking to his doctor is probably his best bet.

Good luck!

My guess is that it's sort of a detox effect - your bodies are letting go of sugar, gluten, etc. and the headaches and those other feelings are a result of that. They will likely subside and go away in a few days. I did the Virgin Diet a year ago and experienced the same thing - once I got past that, I felt amazing.

I really like the Virgin Diet book and got a lot of ideas from it, but have never done the full program.

In doing elimination diets, a medical provider should be consulted, so if you haven't done that, the symptoms your DH is having might be a good thing to call the doctor's office about to sort out the reason.

Moving in new directions.

Hi everyone, husband and I are doing this diet we are on Day 4, he is doing it purely to support me to find out my food intolerance which is sweet of him but..... He is feeling sick every time he eats - any one else come across this. We both had ferric headaches for 3 days which have eased a bit today.
