Hi Elaine That must have been a shock, but I know you'll sort it. Did you say a while back that you were eating rather a lot of fast food? That might be your answer, especially with the sodium content possibly causing bloating. I think you do incredibly well to keep going and even keep exercising with your health issues so don't be too hard on yourself! God bless

I fee for you. I was in kidney failure in 2003 from a lupus flare. Had 4 treatments. I remember how bloated I could get and be 20 pounds lighter after the treatment. My kidney disease is in remission for which I am thankful. I know if is hard and challenging to follow the recommendations re: the diet and fluids. However I know that and your will do it. Peace!

Try not to worry. You don't have to give up the foods you like, you just need to be more mindful of your portion sizes. You'll also need to be more mindful when it comes to sodium. That means you're going to definitely have to watch how much fast food you eat. KFC and McDonalds are loaded with sodium. Eating too much sodium could cause you to retain water. So, you will have to watch those sauces.
Mostly, be kind to yourself as you would to others. You are NOT obese. Do you realize that if you were American, you'd be considered slim ?

I was the 3rd highest gainer of inter-dialytic weight gain in the dialysis center that I go to! That means the weight gained in between sessions. This is bad! This is really bad! This means that I can't drink as much as I want anymore, I will really have to watch the fluids. That means, not only drinks, but gravies and soups as well, not to mention fruits and veggies.
I will have to eat less too. As overeating can add to my weight as well! Not only that, but I've gained about a kilo too! This is so bad! I'm so depressed! I wish I didn't like food so much! And I just love chugging down iced cold water, no more! Or at least I will not drink beyond my 500 ml bottle! I will have to to stick with what I'm allowed!
