As an extension to the comment that the worst that can happen is stomach problems, you are also at risk of Kidney stones. My late husband had 3 separate surgeries for very large kidney stones, and believe me when I say, this is one thing you DON'T want to have!
As others have said, it's borderline too much, and it's not at all necessary. Vitamin C is one of the easiest vitamins to get in food. If you eat fruit and vegetables, you'll get as much as your body can use. In fact, even people who don't quite reach their 5-a-day goal generally get enough Vitamin C anyway-- though they may be short on other vitamins and all the little special nutrients that scientists are just starting to identify.
Most vitamin supplements don't do much good, unfortunately. It turns out that in a lot of cases, what makes you healthy isn't the vitamin itself, but rather the whole combination of substances found in foods that are high in a particular vitamin. So stock up and eat an orange or a sweet red pepper every day, and you'll get plenty of vitamin C without needing the pills.

According to the Mayo Clinic website, the recommended daily dose of vitamin C should be 65 to 90 miligrams a day. The upper limit is 2,000mgs. Megadoses of vitamin C can cause diarrhea, vomiting, insomnia, headaches and kidney stones.
Have you had any medical issues ? If you haven't had any unusual health issues, you're probably fine. There was a time when it was thought that taking fist fulls of vitamins was healthy. Today, with more research we know that isn't true. Megadoses of vitamins can be detrimental to our health.
If you are concerned, talk to your doctor and get a blood test done. Your doctor will let you know if you're taking too much or not.
A person should be getting more of their vital nutrients (like vitamins) from the food they eat. A vitamin is a supplement a person takes if they have a nutritional deficiency. if you eat plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, it's doubtful that you need the extra vitamin.
Linus Pauling is the father of the vitamin C movement. He was a brilliant scientist, but some of his work has been called into question.
I have taken 1,000 mg. of timed release Vitamin C every day for years. I had not added Vitamin C to be tracked but my daughter advised me to and that I was taking too much. Is it too much when it is timed release. I had been of the belief that taking Vitamin C was good to ward off colds. Surprise, Surprise.
