Can anyone advise me as to whether walking on my treadmill at a speed of 4.0 mph with NO incline for 45 minutes 5x a week will help to reduce my resting heart rate? At 4.0 mph, that is a 15 minute mile. Should I throw in some "bursts" and move the mph up to 4.2 - 4.2 mph throughout the workout to get better results? I just want to know what I can do to lower my resting heart rate from the 80s to the 70s.....Thanks, everyone.....P.S. My blood pressure is always excellent, but my rhr number is just bothering me....
