I find when I crave carbs it is because I haven't eaten enough of them.

Resolved in 2014 to remain below 120!

I think this is the time of year when overindulgence is the norm and food advertisements are all over the place...especially sweets. So whether you are really watching your carbs or trying to avoid them altogether...it becomes very very difficult to abstain.
For me...that's when having plenty of fruit available helps. And I try to avoid carbs...so bean dishes help fill in my starch cravings....as well as being very satisfying.

Sure, it's what happens when you diet................eat some more carbs, or find something frozen from weight watchers or something, that isn't so "calorific" and let that be your treat instead of donuts. The simple, regular, Krispy Kreme, is the lowest of all the donuts that there are, if you can save that treat for once a week or so, buy one there, it is not so big, for one thing. I have Skinny Cow treat every evening at 7 pm, because that is what I like, find something that you like from the large amount of treat choices that they make now, and keep that at home, limit yourself to 2 a day, and maybe you won't feel so left out of eating something tasty. That is the main trouble with diets, you just aren't satisfied, no matter are organic the fruits, or how many herbs and spices you use, that's just the way it is. That is why weight loss business is a billion dollar business, people start and stop, start anew, buy this book and that book. Find something besides donuts to please you.

This might sound weird but when I start craving "junk" type foods that aren't resolved after having 1 serving I find I need to reevaluate my diet. I'm usually deficient in healthy fats and proteins but am craving carbs. So I up my intake on those and the cravings usually go away.

Yes you can--I had half a bite of a sample apple cider donut a couple of weeks ago at my local farm stand. I decided that in spite of being organic, locally sourced and made fresh on site, it was still disgusting. It left a nasty, greasy feeling on the roof of my mouth and made me very glad that I hadn't been tempted to buy a whole donut.

Donuts, as in plural? Ewwwww. Stop the madness Dr. Footwear!

When I don't eat enough good carbs and protein together, I get the sweet tooth cravings as well.

I have never been that big on sweets and I only ever liked donuts maybe once every couple of months, but during the past week I have stopped and bought donuts maybe 3 or four times.
I don't think it is just a need for sugar, because I specifically want donuts. Anyone else experience anything like this?
