Ha ha KJ, out of hundreds of friends, I only have 4 who are conservative. I just can't put up with the inane Tea Party memes, so I hid them all.

Dances: salsa (standard/LA), casino, rueda de casino, cumbia Colombiana, bachata, mambo, cha-cha-chá, merengue, reggaetón.

Currently learning: Mexican cumbia, danzón, Cuban rumba

Dances to Learn in the future: flamenco, tango Argentino, samba, belly dancing, bhangra, ballroom rumba

I don't like it when people use their twitter or facebook as their personal soap box. So I ignore their posts. I don't hide their feed unless their soap box is disturbing.

Made it to my maintenance weight of 125 pounds.

I don't do facebook but I do know people who get in such a stew over something that was never intended to hurt, insult or slight them. Trouble with me is I tend to try and discuss whatever it was to make them see sense, and sometimes a more appropriate response may be just to walk away (kindly!).

That's a great question. On the rare occasion I've seen faux outrage online, it was usually meant in a humorous vein.

I'm not into FB either but know people in the real world who get mad over completely silly things. Life is too short to let it get to me but I do avoid people like this.

I have several FB friends that seem to be upset about something all the time. In my opinion, they are just blowing things out of proportion. I also think it must get tiring to be so enraged by so many things all the time. I tend to just ignore the posts and move on....

No, I do not know anybody like this. None of my FB friends do this. However, I have all of the Republicans' feeds hidden, so that may have something to do with it. :)

However, I love the word "faux." "Ersatz" is another personal favorite.

I think we live in a world of exclamation points and ALL CAPS. So, it is not just that people are faux outraged but also faux thrilled/congratulatory. I just tend to ignore either extreme.

I'm not into FB
but I know people who make a point of blowing things out of proportion when they feel slighted in the least little way by some sales person or business and will write to the management (and keep going up the food chain) and complain about that treatment until they get a response...and because they get a response they get compensation (complimentary discount, complimentary meal, complimentary gift certificate)...so they continue to do it all the time. What makes matters worse is that they have no consideration for the person they accuse.

the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

I also have FB friends that get outraged over the smallest things. And they complain a lot about other things. So I generally skip over their posts. It is sad that they don't realize that they have a great life that others might envy.

I think that once you become more comfortable in your own skin and happier, I think the outrages become less because you pick your battles.

To answer you question, one of my FB friends constantly bad mouths her job, her boyfriend (whom she has had a child with), gets mad when she thinks someone has told her sister (not her FB friend) what's been going on....I skip over those posts.

I tend to ignore everyone's outrage, real or faked. It doesn't matter. I don't need that kind of negativity, so if you're posting it I'm skipping it.

Of course this is EXTREMELY subject because what makes me mad may not be what makes another mad and the same goes for the intensity but I have a few FaceBook friends who are seemingly perpetually OUTRAGED.....in a word, it's "ridiculous" to me.

I am convinced that some folks have "learned" to become outraged to the point that it's totally transparent and they are full of bologna aka FAKE mad.

Here's the question: Do you know folks who YOU have deemed to display FAUX outrage?
