I think you can lose too much. My boyfriend has lost weight and it has made his face too thin, so he looks older.

SPARKERS ROCK!!!!!

My doctor never referred me to a specialist. I told him what I was eating, and he was happy about the changes I have made. He said he wants to see me back in February. That was two weeks ago or so. I am eating all of the right stuff. I just didn't know if I should be eating more of them.

The best person to pose your question to would be your dr. Please be careful and lots of luck.

P.S.
Don't forget to get in some strength training and cardio to compliment the weight loss.

A lot of "fatty" foods like fast food, fried food, cheese, etc. tend to be high in sodium. There's probably a good chance you've lost a lot of fluid weight in the beginning when you changed your diet. Many people experience fast initial weight loss if they've made a lot of changes to their diet. If that's the case, faster than normal weight loss wouldn't be harmful. It becomes harmful when you're not eating enough calories and getting adequate nutrients.

"Toning" is marketing muscles to women who are afraid if they pick up a barbell, they'll leave the gym looking like She-Hulk. If you don't want to get bulky, lift heavy!

I can bench Nicole Richie, eat more than she does in a day before noon, I have a good 20 lbs on her but could still wear her pants.

I had a similar condition a few years ago and took dietary advice only from professionals..
My liver function has returned to normal ranges and I no longerr need to follow any "special" diet - just whole healthy foods and exercise :-)

Agree with Anarie. But you don't mention how you feel? Energetic? Fit? Happy? If this diet makes you feel better - then stick with it, but see your doc as well - s/he might recommend a few tweaks to the diet, maybe a multivitamin.

There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

You can take the girl out of London, but - thank goodness - you can't take London out of the girl.

I think your Dr should be referring you to a Registered Dietitian to help you. If he/she hasn't, then please ask for a referral.

I will mention three things apart from weight-loss that can help you:
1. If you drink alcohol at all, you should refrain.

2. Get regular exercise

3. Make sure that you talk with your Pharmacist and/or Dr about any medication including OTC meds (pain relief and supplements included)

Kris

You should have a doctor monitoring you (in fact, they should have referred you to a liver specialist when you got your diagnosis.) There's a wide range in how serious a problem fatty liver really is, so advice from random strangers on the internet could do more harm than good.

That said-- and remember, I'm a random stranger on the internet so my advice is about as trustworthy as your mailman's dog groomer's advice-- 15 pounds in 5 weeks is very fast, but probably not dangerous. It's very like to slow down now; most people do lose quickly at the beginning of a weight loss program. But again, you should be seeing a doctor who can examine you and read your records, because s/he can give you a definite answer on whether there's anything to worry about.

I was diagnosed with fatty liver disease. I decided to take it seriously, and I totally altered my diet. It has been about 5 weeks. So far I have not had red meat (all of my fats have been the good kind), have eaten no-fat/low-fat dairy (If I had whole fat cheese it was from Subway), all whole grains, there has been NO soda or junk food, lots of veggies and fruits, and lots of water. I would say it was similar to the Mediterranean diet. I actually haven't done any intentional exercising besides running around at work.I lost about 13-15 pounds. Is that too much??? Now, I don't know if I'm getting 1200 calories. I was more focused on my fat intake. However, I am not starving myself, and I'm actually eating. I think the water really fills me up, which I never drank much of before. Is it typical for a bigger person to lose this much weight with diet alone? I went from 225 to roughly 210.
