I was once on a mail order meal diet and they had some of the nastiest food. The egg thing was the worst

Made it to my maintenance weight of 125 pounds.

Even though I have reached goal. I still don't know everything about weight loss.

Worst thing ever? Some yellow-coloured disc labelled "omelette" and served to my mother-in-law during her stay in an extended care home. Oh, hospital food. If your illness doesn't kill you, the food surely will. She didn't want to eat it... I thought I better taste it just to see how bad it really was. It was B A D. My spouse then decided it looked rubbery enough that it just might bounce - so we did an experiment and yes indeed, dropped from a 4 foot height, it bounced.

I won't even discuss "Lemon Sole" night. Can't say it's the worst thing I've eaten - because I couldn't bring myself to do it. Those nights, a lot of ill and frail people go utterly hungry; most of what is served ends up in the trash.

Sad.

I'm pretty food adventurous, so I've eaten a lot of things that I wouldn't eat again, but this one just chaps my behind. There's this local chain restaurant that everyone sings the praises of that is kind of pricey. I went and ordered some sort of Tex-Mex tortilla casserole thing. It stated that it had tomato sauce in it, along with chicken, cheese, jalepenos, etc. Sounds like the sauce is like the enchillada type used in a lot of dishes of this sort. Nope! - it was Italian seasoned spaghetti sauce. Blech! Almost inedible, and I refused to go back to that place for a couple of years. (Recently went back because it was a date's favorite place; he didn't last, and I'm still not impressed.)

A few years back I tried these noodles that I saw on Dr. Oz. I don't remember what the noodles were called, but I had to order them online. They're supposed to be real good for you . Well, I was so excited to try them because the women on his show said they were really good. NOT!!!! I made it through 2 bites, could not eat any more, they were HORRIBLE! Thankfully I was able to return the unused packages. UGH!!!!!

Had some really bad tasting food in my life, I guess, but what comes to mind is a frozen vegan breakfast tofu scramble I wasted my money on a few years ago. It looked so good on the package and I was trying to eat vegan at the time, but this meal was one of the things that put me off of the whole idea lol.

Moving in new directions.

No pickled pigs feet for me either, nor caviar. Went to a fine Asian restaurant in NY not long ago and they had seaweed salad on the side of some appetizers. I couldn't move after I put it in my mouth -- thought I was going to ruin everyone's day. Finally got it spit out into my napkin without grossing everyone out.

A couple of years ago, I was served a burrito for lunch on an airplane flight. I never could figure out what was in it and it tasted just plain awful. It looked like rice, maybe quinoa, but it tasted like rubber smells. I haven't forgotten it since. Aaack!

I drank some homemade wine many years back, I was still in my teens, and I was gagging for a few days afterwards...almost went to the hospital...don't know if it was no good or had been spiked with something.
Five years ago I ate something, I think, that brought on a case of food poisoning. It was at one of those potluck Church gatherings but the strange thing is that some people were affected and some others weren't who had eaten the same thing. Go figure. Someone tried to say it was the Norwalk virus but I have my sincere doubts.

After reading some of the comments, I have to add I am from Germany where blood meat and head cheese is common. I loved it. Still do but I find it hard to find. It is available at commissaries,, But I have to wait till someone takes me there. I love it on 100% rye bread w/a good swiss cheese and hot mustard. Yum Yum!!!

Liver, I loathe liver.

However, I was at a fancy dinner one time where they served a sort of pate in aspic. I tried a bite and I'm pretty sure made a face. I didn't spit it out, but I didn't finish the course either.

Kale, my husband and I have been trying to like kale, but can't stand it!! The recipe to make kale chips, turned out so disgusting, it tasted the way old cigarette butts in an ashtray smell!! And the rough, furry mouth feel of the leaves, just awful stuff. We are sticking to spinach, and so be it!!! We don't like parsley, either.

Plan for tomorrow, but enjoy the heck out of today.

Not the most exotic or necessarily what sounded the most unappealing, but your personal least favorite.
I love vinegar, but I tried pickled pigs' feet once and the texture was too much for me. Uggh.
