Easing in slowly. Did stock up a little on some food items (canned) that will keep. This is to avoid the last minute "holiday mobs."

Spark People Team Leader, GLITTERGIRL, from Team, "I Can't Do This On My Own", helped me reach my goal in 2012. I was able to maintain my weight for several months, but now I have to get serious again as much of my hard work I let go of, putting my focus on another issue. I will keep on, until I get back to my goal.

I really do love the holidays, but they're coming fast! Thanksgiving is in 3 weeks and Christmas in less than 7!? Yikes, I have a lot to do between now and then, but most of it is pretty fun! It's the losing 10 pounds that isn't as much fun! Lol. Happy (almost) Holidays! :)

I absolutely love the holidays!! Sometimes it feels like they are here too soon, but I don't mind. Our kids are usually here for the holidays and I love the noise and chaos of it all!!!!!

I am not a holiday person. I wish I was. My family being so small we really don't do much.
In every day life everything just feels so busy and people are rushed. I was surprised to see Chanukah starts before Thanksgiving. That is really soon and I wonder if it will impact Black Friday shopping sales since that comes after the start of Chanukah gift giving.

After Halloween I consider it the beginning of the dark season and try to celebrate that aspect: the longest night is coming, and this is a time to look for the light within. A good time to focus on goals and look within.

Love the holiday season. This year I am selling crafts at a craft fair, so it has eaten into my time that I prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'll be hoofin' it this year to say the least. Hope I can get everything done.

I wait until Thanksgiving. Starbucks is apparently celebrating now, lol, as they have the red cups out. Too soon because we just had Halloween. I like to enjoy my Halloween/Fall decorations through Thanksgiving. :D

I like giving each holiday it's due attention. I will not be putting up any Christmas decorations or listen to any Christmas music until the day after Thanksgiving. When I was young, that was always part of the fun, enjoying each and every day until Christmas to its fullest!

It seems like it gets earlier every year. Yesterday I was at the mall and a store was playing Christmas music. It was really upsetting me, especially as I looked at the Halloween clearance.

I don't particularly celebrate Halloween or Thanksgiving, but I do enjoy Christmas. However, I'm NOT ready to be listening to Christmas carols three days after Halloween. Every year the holidays get pushed further and further forward. It's not meant to be celebrated for 2 months. That takes the magic out of it. So I wait to put my tree up until after Thanksgiving and enjoy the holidays without getting too far ahead of myself.

I don't usually celebrate Christmas.

I may have a tree this year and do some very limited homemade presents if I have friends with children visiting around that time, but I won't think about it much until well after Thanksgiving.

I love Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas and while focusing on each as it approaches, I also find myself "pre-planning" for each ahead of time. I love figuring out menus, working on Christmas card lists, buying Trick or Treat candy, putting together mail orders for Christmas gifts, putting pretty autumn-themed tablecloths on the tables, ordering wreaths, raking leaves, watching holiday movies, planning music for Thanksgiving/Advent/Christmas church services............all at once!

I don't like the commercialism that has taken over Christmas, and it bothers me how Thanksgiving has been made into a shopping day. So to protest, I used to put off shopping until December. Then I realized this was just hurting me in the long run.

So now, I try to do a little bit, almost every day, starting in late October, to start getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas. This doesn't mean I'll putting up my tree tomorrow, but I can do things to get organized, and NOT let my shopping go to the last minute.

We had a fun Halloween, and I hope to enjoy November, have a fun Thanksgiving weekend, observe Advent, and enjoy the Christmas season at least until January 6.

The holidays are a great chance to design your own traditions, on your timeline. Enjoy!

I enjoy one holiday at a time. Although with Thanksgiving being so late this year I will have to Christmas shop before Thanksgiving.

I wish the holidays would be like when I was a child...we would make our own Halloween costumes. Then after Halloween we started getting ready for Thanksgiving. Shopping, baking, decorating. cooking, inviting friends and family. Then we would do the same for Christmas. I still do the same inside my won home. I am distress to see commercials on tv and radio running all the holidays together. I can't take hearing Christmas songs for 3 months. 1 month is enough. By the time this holiday season is over, I'm burned out on holidays. It leaves me exhausted and drained. I don't like this feeling. I just can't enjoy them like I use to. Sad.
Who else I with me on this?

I find that I don't "wait to get into the spirit", the "spirit" finds me, maybe next week, maybe during Thanksgiving, maybe tomorrow, and sometimes on Dec. 26 or Dec. 31, just depends. Back when I was a kid, it hit right after Halloween, even though stores back then didn't have stuff up early at all.

I definitely understand those who feel the Christmas or Holiday season has been protracted too much. Just the same, I love the Holiday Season, and I do start feeling in the holiday mood even in early November.

I find it a bit much that Christmas and Halloween decorations appear in the stores at the same time. I have taken to, jokingly, referring to this as the Hallowistmas Season.

But, I prefer to enjoy fall, myself. Thanksgiving too. I see no need to move directly from Halloween into Christmas (thus, I am not a fan of Hallowistmas).

Today, I am planning to take down my Halloween decorations and put out my Thanksgiving/fall tablecloths (they have leaves on them, so they are okay for fall and I leave them on for Thanksgiving too). I have some other fall-type decorations that I put out as well. I won't put out Christmas decorations until December and I will take them down 2 days after Christmas.

I have already done some Christmas shopping. I don't like to leave it until the last minute.

Are you embracing the holiday season in November or are you waiting until after Thanksgiving to get into the X-mas holiday spirit.
