Aye, I had the same piece of advice about materials for my teaching. I really struggle with it, 'cause I get the horror of wasting food when people are hungry. At the same time, there are lots of manipulatives I can't afford, but my kids can stack and count pasta wheels for months and it only costs me a couple bucks, which leaves me money in my wallet to feed my students who are hungry. Dunno if I'm really getting that tradeoff right, but that's where I'm coming down right now.

I had an art teacher in college who would not allow students to use any food in making art. He was a survivor of the concentration camps during WW II. He said food should never be wasted. I can't appreciate chocolate dresses, and the like, as a result.

The chocolate would be set on material first and was possibly stored in a very cold place until the models were dressed in it.

My ..... talk about 'death by chocolate' LOL! I think if it had been ME modeling one, it would have started as a Maxi Dress, but by the time I got on stage, it would have been VERY MUCH a mini :-)

I don't get it. How do you make clothes out of chocolate? What keeps it from just melting off your body? (Not to mention the TERRIBLE waste of perfectly good chocolate!)
