I try to have a snack between breakfast and lunch and lunch and dinner. I do this to avoid blood sugar drops, keep metabolism going, keep me from overeating at meals.

Never. On low carb, ketosis suppresses my appetite so much that it is a struggle to eat twice a day. But, I've lost 210 pounds, so I will not complain. And it's nice to not be thinking of food every two hours.

I have fallen into a 3 snack/ 3 meal day... My meals are small, and my snacks are small... They sometimes come close to equaling the same/ equal throughout the day. I have found myself more in control of my eating habits.

I snack too often. I think if you are not hungry between meals, then do't eat them. The purpose of snack is so you don't get so hungry, that you overeat or make poor choices at mealtime. If you can eliminate those calories, however, and not feel too hungry, I think you're better off for it.

depends what I'm doing - if at home I have a piece of fruit mid morning and a little something with a cup of tea at 4pm (look, I'm English - it's what we DO) so that answer is twice

re: my original post...I think the Overeaters Anonymous plan says you shouldn't have any snacks but I've never been in OA nor been a compulsive eater, just read it in somebody's autobiography. Anyway a lot of diet experts say it's ok to have snacks. It works for me and I guess lots of other people feel the same way. Whatever works best, go with it I suppose.
