This may seem like a weird form of encouragement but I do mean it as encouragement. Accepting these ideas actually makes it easier for me to get through each day.
We did not get fat overnight! Or in 1 week or in 1 month. It took us years to pack on the pounds and develop our unhealthy eating habits.
We expect 1 day, 1 week, 1 month of eating well and exercising to knock out years of fat.
Every one of us has to get up every day and look in the mirror and acknowledge the above. You have to embrace this concept and make it part of you.
Once you accept this nasty fact, you can look at yourself and say that you are going to change your life. You are going to be healthy. It is not going to happen in 1 day, 1 week or 1 month. It is going to take us years to lose weight, to learn to eat well, to learn to exercise and learn to be healthy. In fact, it is a journey that will last the rest of our lives. We will get lost on our journey and we will sometimes go off on a detour. But if we accept that this is a lifetime journey to be healthy, not a diet, then we can get back on track and keep going.
