worry achieves nothing - think about your children, your family, your friends, your job, do what's necessary - but don't worry - it helps nobody

There are 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

You can take the girl out of London, but - thank goodness - you can't take London out of the girl.

Ditto to AlbertJon and Matthews responses. I would have chosen one of those, but I do agree that are worries are unique. And I strongly agree with the dark chocolate worry!

Just think what a blessing it is to not be so compulsive with worry.
I forgot the illness for that? I think it might be OCD? Anyway, just imagine that you are obsessed and worried about germs! You wash your hands so much that your skin seems damaged from the anti-bacterial soap. Or you'll flush the toilet 10 or so times. Let's not talk about cleaning the toilet. You are afraid to catch germs from people, so you wear a surgical mask, every time you are out and about. You probably can't eat any meat because of your germ phobia. Now aren't we lucky! As a child I used to pick up my candy when it dropped, and still ate it. I am talking about when it dropped on the floor in my house. I would do the 10 second rule, and pray it clean by having God bless it. What me worry, I don't think so. At least not about germs, I'm immune, I think.

GENRE009: Wow! I may never worry again, because that list of items blows anything I have ever worried about out of the water. However...

Well, I had one serious worrying session once, which I admit did me no good, but I worried the entire week-end anyway. I let our house insurance expire and did not realize it. On a Saturday morning I got a letter from the company that my account had been closed. I tried to call the insurance man and get the insurance started again but could not reach him. We were in a tornado warning the entire week-end. A tornado actually touched down on the outside of town. Plus, hail storms were forecast. Well, I worried and worried and worried. We got lucky and no wind or hail damage to our home.

Shoot! There is no way that I have it in me not to worry, even when I know it does no good.

I worry when I was told I had cancer!
But I stopped worrying when the tornado hit my house.
I worried when I lost my memory in a car accident!
But I stopped worrying when I bought a key chain, that said" a mind is a horrible thing to waste!"
I worried when a doctor overdosed me, and cause me to have a nervous break down, cause he had a stroke! I stopped worrying when my friends didn't understand the circumstances, and wondered if I was really trying to kill myself , and didn't know it. And my sister now wondered if I was capable of murder? They scared me, and made me wonder who was really crazy here?
Worrying is a waste, cause the situation is never as bad as your fear of it! eva.

@amaranthaq: I agree with that! What is my worry shouldn't be someone else's worry and no one should tell me what to worry or not worry about. The collection so far seems to be in the summary I posted a few days ago although there are more variants since then.

Also, I think that its more about prioritising the right things rather than worrying about them.

Worrying might be a good thing in some circumstances. If, for example, one worries about his/her financial future, he/she might start doing some significant planning and preparing, checking what best plan-of-attack to employ. Worrying, in of itself, can be a good springboard to get someone to change behavior or to embark upon an important attitude change.

If worrying makes one ill or disconcerted, it is bad. If worrying makes one instigate changes for the better, it is good.

I don't think it is appropriate to tell others what they should or should not be worried about.

Everyone's worries are unique to them and are important to them.

Most people worry about things that have not happened and may never happen like if they are going to lose their job in this economy or if they are going to gain back the weight they lost. Unnecessary worrying, bad for your health.

Shouldn't spend time worrying about anything.

Telling someone that what they are worried about is not important and so shouldn't be worried about at all is the same as telling someone they have no right to their feelings.

"Worry is like rocking in a chair. It gives you something to do, but you don't get anywhere." idk who originally said that, but it makes sense to me.

I try not to worry about things.... either you can do something about it, or you can't. Take the environment for example. I can't change what everyone else does, but I can be a good steward of the natural resources I use, I can recycle, I can reduce my consumption. I can encourage others. I can "put my money where my mouth is" and buy products from environmentally-friendly companies.

Or my health. I don't worry about it. I do what I can to live a healthy lifestyle. I don't drink or smoke. I exercise, cook from scratch, avoid processed foods, etc etc. Worrying about it would just be a waste of mental and emotional energy for me.

-what others think about us

Things to worry about

Health of loved ones, children though older now so less worrisome and of course, finances. I believe those are the big 3. Otherwise most of the time life is good.

Most of us worry about unimportant stuff like: who's going to be voted off of "Dancing with the Stars" or "American Idol."

When really we should be worried about: why the American voters keep sending such unethical people to congress.
