Gentle hugs to you (crushing bear hugs are just plain rotten when a person's feeling bloated after a big meal!)... It's okay; spaghetti and meatballs are - let's face it - delicious comfort food. Maybe next time, see if you could just have the one plate instead... The Pinot might've amped up my appetite, too, making the second plate pretty much inevitable. If alcohol has that effect on you, you might want to be aware of that..

A couple of good points have been made about portion sizes and frequency of meals. If those are out of whack it can cause bloating.

If you don't think it's related to portions or frequency then I would suggest that you track your meals, both content and size and how you feel afterwards.

For example, since I've quit eating a bunch of processed foods my stomach feels better. I went out with some friends and ordered a flatbread pizza. On the way home I had to let unhook my belt as my abdominal girth expanded about 5 inches! IT was quite uncomfortable and we wont go into the other GI symptoms! Needless to say, I won't eat that again.

Tracking will help you figure out relationships between how you feel and what you eat. And you can share it with your Dr. if the symptoms persist.

Good luck figuring it out and hope you feel better.

I get this feeling sometimes and it is most uncomfortable. My last incident was 3 weeks ago, which led to pains because I decided to eat all of the lunch ordered. As a result, I now take lunch to work which is half of what the caterer puts in the container.

How many months have you felt like this, so far? Sounds like more than just "overeating". Do you feel like that after breakfast and lunch too, or are you only eating once a day and stuffing your tummy then, some folks who do that, trying to "diet" have trouble with it.

Plan for tomorrow, but enjoy the heck out of today.

that amount of food and wine, especially carbs would make me crash big time.

All the so called "secrets of success"will not work ... unless you do.

You may just be eating to much at one sitting, but I would talk to a doctor just to be sure it isn't something else.

A serving of pasta is 2oz. It sounds like you had about ten servings worth of noodles.

This could be part of the problem...

Dances: salsa (standard/LA), casino, rueda de casino, cumbia Colombiana, bachata, mambo, cha-cha-chá, merengue, reggaetón.

Currently learning: Mexican cumbia, danzón, Cuban rumba

Without knowing exactly how big your servings were & if it's due to overeating (no offense!), it sounds like you could have a food sensitvity. Since I've all but cut out gluten, whole nuts, & whole kernel corn, my stomach has been a lot happier. I would get major bloating from regular meals like a sandwich.

This topic came in my head after dinner just a few minutes ago. After dinners, I tend to feel really swollen. Not just "I ate that extra slice of cake" swollen. My stomach feels like it's about to explode.

I just ate two plates of spaghetti and meatballs, and two glasses of Pinot Noir wine. I just had to crash on the couch. As I'm writing this, my stomach is feeling extremely bloated. It feels like someone inflated it, and it almost looks pregnant! Just had to unbutton my jeans to breathe, the discomfort is so unbearable. This is happening pretty often, almost every night after I eat dinner. It's even worse when I'm out with friends.

Just not feeling all that great. Feeling like my stomach is a hot air balloon.
