It doesn't matter to me. An e-card can be personalized just as one purchased in a store can be or one you can make yourself at home.

I strongly prefer real cards. I send a lot of them, too. It really doesn't take much longer to do so than sending an e-card and I think they pack a lot more meaning for both the sender and the recipient.

Usually don't remember someone's birthday until it's too close to mail a card. So end up sending an e-mail or e-card to say Happy Birthday.

Definitely real cards. E-cards are fine when it's an extra, but at birthdays and Christmas I like to put cards up. You can't do that with an e card.

I don't like real cards! They are a waste of money and paper. Most people don't recycle them either. I like to make my own. If I am sending thank you's I drop them off at the persons house when in the area. For e cards love them.. They are great for invites and hello's!

Both are nice to give and to receive. For special occasions such as birthdays I usually get a paper card. Once you get the Hallmark rebates, the cards really do not cost that much. However, if I have been talking to someone that seems down, I will send off an e-card. They are fun to get in that crazy full inbox.

Last year I did not send out Christmas cards. That does get very expensive. However, in February I sent my closest friends and relatives a Valentine card. I received so many, "Thank You. Do you know how long it has been since I have received a Valentine." comments. It made me feel really good and put a smile on a lot of faces. Valentines Day is a little important in our family since it was my Mom and Dad's anniversary.

I definitely prefer sending and receiving old-fashioned, paper cards. I think our world is going VERY impersonal and it adds a personal touch that is slowly disappearing.

This doesn't mean I don't enjoy e-cards, and I realize they save a lot (time, money, paper, etc.) but I'm also sentimental and like to save special cards. I have very old cards and letters that my great-grandmother sent to me ... and I don't have much else left of her.

I definitely prefer both sending AND receiving physical cards. I know that the recipients enjoy receiving them (I hear this a LOT) and I enjoy taking a minute to write a note, choose an appropriate stamp and send it on its way.

My professional life involves tons of emails, so receiving a card by email is almost more of a burden than anything else, I'm sorry to say.

There are many good sources of relatively inexpensive cards for all occasions. My big bugaboo is cards printed in China; I'll definitely pay more for cards from the US rather than supporting China's economy over our own.

I slightly prefer real cards, but I would be happy with an ecard if it looks like the person at least picked it out for just me. I do not like getting a Holiday greeting e-card, for example, with a lovely picture that says "Happy Holidays from XYZ" that was obvsiously mass emailed to most everyone on their contact list.

That is so impersonal, I wish they would not bother at all.

I still send out Christmas cards. People talk of the expense of postage, and the cards. I can get 30 cards for about $5 or $6 (cheaper if I really want to got to the all for a dollar store or something). Stamps for thirty cards would be less than $15. I know many people who say they can not afford the postage, spend more than the cards and postage would cost, just for one meal out.

If you just don't like writing them, that is fine, I can accept it.

I prefer to receive a real card - because as others have said, it means someone took the time to pick one out, and write a note and mail it..that means a lot. I think e-cards are a cool idea, but they're impersonal even though they're instant.

I don't mind the price of postage - still costs less than the card itself, and less still than standing in line at Starbucks.

Writing/sending cards, and writing letters are becoming lost arts... it's sad. I wish people weren't so device dependant figuring that 99 cent app will be all I ever need....and would instead remember to take the time to make a valuable and personal impact on the life of someone else by using a real card, or sending a written letter instead of an email or an e-card. Both have their advantages, but one is way more meaningful than the other.

Now for me, I get almost no cards, and definitely no e-cards from anyone - but I send out birthday cards and Christmas cards and Easter, Valentine's Day, etc.. to family and friends.

I love sending cards and do often. I also send e cards but for a thank you to a gift, birthday or similar I send a card in the mail. For a hello sometimes I will send an e card. I think mailing a card shows more thought and time. You can get really cute cards at the dollar store too. I always keep some on hand

After the shock I had a couple of years ago with the cost of postage costing 2 or 3 times the cost of the card and the card is eventually thrown out after the purpose, I have now resorted to sending e-cards. The thought is there, I can still write my notes and it is sent instantaneously.

I am ok with both, either kind makes me happy to know that someone was thinking of me.

I still send snail mail cards sometimes, especially since I have a few relatives that do not use the internet, and I also have a friend who lives in an area without internet access.

There are a couple of groups in my community that collect used cards to "recycle"; one of them is a senior group. They use the fronts of the old cards to make new greeting cards or note cards, and then they package them up and sell them to help raise money for their activities.

I still like to mail out cards for Christmas, and I enjoy writing notes in them too, and not just signing my name.

I like physical cards. I know any kind of communication is sweet that someone is thinking about you. However, I think it takes more thought and effort for someone to take the time to send a real card to you. That is one of the main reasons why I send cards to other people (especially Christmas Cards), even though most people my age don't send them anymore.

Someone sending any kind of acknowledgement of an occasion is appreciated!

I kind of like receiving e-cards better for most things because then I don't have to think about whether it is okay to keep or toss something. Less clutter to deal with is good!

I like sending e-cards because I don't remember things until last minute often. They are fast and easy.

It depends. I recently received a paper card in the mail from a relative who said a lot of mushy things in it. It would not of had as much meaning if it wasn't in his writing and was an e-mail card. I recently sent a e-mail birthday card to a friend that was a singling card with a lot of animation. I couldn't get that in paper form.

I think e-cards have a lot of advantages. You know they receive it and it doesn't wind up in a neighbor's mailbox. They get it on their birthday and don't have to guess when it arrives if sending a paper card by snail mail. You have tons of variety of sending really cool animated cards for a fraction of the price an expensive cool paper card (can be $12.00) costs plus the cost of stamps (may need more than one stamp.)

I like the computer age!

Would you rather receive a physical, old-fashioned card or an e-card?

Personally, I'd rather receive a real, physical card rather than an e-card. But as for sending, I prefer e-cards. But I guess most ppl prefer sending e-cards these days!

So much so that the physical card vendors are now suffering! What's your take on this? I think it's sad that this is the state of things now. Ppl are just moving so fast that they don't take time to send real cards like they did b4 the internet!

But I'm guilty of that myself! What about you?
