Alright, thanks everyone! I'm feeling much better about it. Now time to stock my fridge with microwaveable foods and I should be good to go =p.

I have my microwave in about the same exact place, no harm done! Just a very odd alarm clock when my roommate uses it in the morning!

IMO it should not be on top of your mini-fridge. My son has a similar set up in his dorm room, and we found a table to go over the fridge & the microwave is on top of that.

HOWEVER, the following links indicate it is NOT a problem to worry about...

The only way I can think of that you could be harmed by your microwave would be if you tangled your arm in the cord while sleeping and rolled over pulling the microwave on top of you.

In other words, don't worry about it! You and it are fine.

Trying to find out where to put my microwave. It's been by my bed on top of my mini fridge for weeks so I'm wondering if I can be harmed having it plugged in while sleeping or if that's just superstition. Does anyone know :o? Thanks in advance!
