At one stage in my colourful dieting past, I did the Alternate Day Diet, and then just left a note, and tracked the rest. (As others have said) It was a very hard diet to follow but SUPER healthy. My cholesterol plummeted and all other inflammatory issues were sorted out.
Fasting is really good for us! May yours be really easy and blessed! Remember to drink a lot of water if you are allowed, luke warm if you get headaches or feel a bit off from detoxing.

As others have said, there's nothing to worry about; just track like you would on any other day. A one-day fast doesn't really affect anything. When you hear all the warnings against going under your calorie recommendation and the criticism of fasting that happens here, they're talking about long-term undernourishment and fasting as a weight-loss method. But what matters for health is averages over the long term. After all, we all have days when we end up under-eating, either for a spiritual reason or because of a 24-hour flu bug or running out of groceries or just being too busy and forgetting. You would only need to worry if those days were becoming frequent.

Don't stress just track whatever you eat after sundown.

I'm not fasting this year personally. But in previous years, I just didn't track it. It's once a year and for 24 hours I don't eat or drink anything. After sundown, you think you're starving and you're going to eat so much. But after such a long fast, you'd be surprised that you can't really stuff your face like crazy. Be safe and break your fast with a sugary drink to start with then move on to food. The tough part for me was always the dehydration more than not eating.

You don't have to eat the whole thing.

In our Church prayer meeting this morning we prayed for Jewish people observing Yom Kippur today, so I trust you had a good and helpful day. I'd be really interested to know how you actually observe it nowadays. I only have the Old Testament way of doing it to go by and obviously a lot of the stuff in the OT doesn't happen in today's observations of Yom Kippur.

As far as fasting goes I have the occasional fast day as a Christian and I just don't track anything except my drinks. (And just to set the record straight in case anyone manages to find my trackers, which I doubt, I don't track on holiday either. I'd hate to think anyone thought I'd fasted for a fortnight!!!)

I think you will remember that was the reason for the short day....after a year here, I don't remember seeing it stick out and bite later on. Just have a sweet year ahead and we'll do it again next year.

Just track what you wind up eating that day. So if you eat after sundown then track dinner and if you have a snack before dinner track that. There is a notes section with the Spark tracker. Just put in notes that it was Yom Kippur. Have a good Yom Kppur.

I guess if you don't eat during the day, you don't put it into the tracker. If you want, put it into the Nutrition Notes Diary the reason for the no-food.

Take care,
Kris

I ate well and journaled my food today, but now I am headed to temple and will take sips of water but eat nothing until tomorrow after sundown. How on earth do I put THAT into the nutrition tracker??? This is part of my religion not my diet, and it only comes up a couple times a year.
