I've decided not to read Fifty Shades of Grey. The book title sounds exactly like what's happening to my hair!!

Go ahead and grow your hair if you wish to do so.
Not sure if you can overcome the thinning with nutrition, but that's something to discuss with your doctor.

I realize you're possibly still having health problems, which may add to the problems with the thinning hair, but it's your head, and if you want long hair, and can grow it - do so.

Hmm ... long hair doesn't have to be super long. Just past the shoulders gives the long hair look. A long, blunt bob is very chic. There are so many products for thinning hair. It might pay off to experiment, as you could find something - a spray or shampoo - that works. Yes, I say, go for it. If you don't like it after awhile, you can always go 1/2 inch shorter every few weeks until you arrive at a length that looks best. Even a cut that just skims the shoulders can be very pretty. Some women look great with short hair, but i am not one of them. If you like the look of long hair, I say go for it. With so many products and solutions on the market, I think you can achieve a look you love.

If it were my hair, I would not try to grow it long.
1. I feel that I lose hair faster when it is longer due to tangling. My fine hair tangles very easily when it is longer.
2. I feel that my hair looks much fuller when it is shorter- shoulder length or above.
3. It isn't important to me to have hair that is longer than shoulder length.

I think you look beautiful the way you are, your pictures are great. If it grows long and you want it to be long then let it. If it won't grow, like mine does, then be happy with what you have.

As a child, my hair was kept short so they would have an easier time combing it. It was always looking terrible and tangled if it had any length. Once I was able to have a say in the matter, I let it grow out. As an adult I wear it long, but every five years, on January 1, I cut it off. Sometimes to my shoulders, sometimes to my ears. I send it to Locks for love. That being said, if my hair was thinning, I would probably grow it out one last time and keep my locks, and then keep it short, but have a wig made from my own hair. I can tell you from experience, having long hair, long enough to sit on, can be a pain in the patootie to keep clean. The roots get oily, but the ends start splitting because the oils don't make it down that far. It get heavy too. I wear mine in a braid most of the time to keep it out of my way. About the only time I wear it down is when it is air drying after it has been washed. I do not blow dry it, it would be too badly damaged. So what is the purpose of having the long hair? I just don't like having to fuss with my hair. And when it is short, it has to be fussed with. Locks for love benefits from my long hair.

My mom has very thin hair. Strange because I have the most awful thick and wavy hair... it's like wool. Other women always tell me how 'lucky' I am to have such thick hair. *snort* Try living with it. I can't ever just wear it down because it's always in my face, getting in mouth and eyes, shedding, wavy and heavy (I have to straighten it which takes hours, if I curl it; they just fall out), knotty, mop... god, I despise my hair... it's just a bother. So grass is not always greener?

Anyways, back to my mom. She has very thin hair and in the last couple years has grown it the longest I've ever seen it on her. It actually looks fuller and nice on her. There's always extensions too, to add length and fullness.

Yes, simply because I need to have long hair. Short hair is atrocious on me. Good luck!

Try to grow your hair long even if you're experiencing thinning hair overall?

I'm trying to grow my hair even if it's thinning, simply bcoz I feel it's my last chance to before I go bald! It's hereditary (both my parents have hair problems).
