My Mom (R.I.P.) was 4' 11" and mean but not to me and I love her with my all my heart to this very day and eternity.
She left us about 8 years ago and her words/advice/tales of caution are still with me, she'd say things like, "You know, as an ethnicity not indigenous to this area [no, seriously, she never had formal post high school training but spoke just like this] you will have to work twice as hard to be recognized in anything you do." This was so true and still is today.
She would speak her mind and then would actually QUALIFY what she said unlike some folks today who blurt and run. She taught me that detergent makes water wetter so that the water tension would relax and be able to go through clothes to wash out the dirt so brand name soaps weren't necessary.
She would tell me that school district schedules are based off of school bus availability runs.....it's true, that's why kids start at different times of the morning rather than all at once unless their all on the same campus and are a huge school district.
She had passed on a lot of wisdom to me as I'm sure your Mom or Dad have to you, please share some of that wisdom they bestowed upon you.
It is not okay for an alcoholic to get drunk once in a while.
So do not tell a food addict it is okay to eat like sh*t once in a while
