If you want to have a diet "bet" - why go through the middleman? Dietbetter takes 25% of *everything* that is put in. Seems to me that you and your friend could arrange some sort of bet without having to pay someone to arrange the stakes for you?
I will also note that 4% of your weight in a month is a pretty tall order. My starting weight (245) x 4% = 10 pounds, which is MORE than 2#/week. My current weight (185#) x 4% *still* works out to requiring a 1.85#/week loss, which.... the closer you are to goal weight, the less you can expect to actually lose each week. I would be hard pressed to lose an average of 1.85#/week over 4 weeks at this point.
So, yeah, I think it would be extra stress that might encourage you to seek out "extreme measures" to try and meet this goal, which often backfires over the longer term... and in the process you are handing money over to some website to run what *should* be a very simple game that you could arrange yourself.
Goal 1 - break 200 (46 pounds lost)**DONE**
Goal 2 - leave obesity behind (BMI 29.9, at 185#) **DONE**
Goal 3 - BMI = Normal (154# or less)
