I also agree that the choice you made wasn't bad and if you didn't go over your nutrient needs for the day then no harm done. Here are a couple articles that might help you deal with evening eating and emotional eating if it is pushing you beyond your estimated needs.

You must have still been hungry. The muffin and peanut butter are fine in moderation, but I bet you could have done without the butter too....LOL. We all go through mini binges. Wake up tomorrow and do it different. Good luck!

Keep a sense of humor. Remember, laughing burns calories too!

Laugh until it hurts! It's one of the few things in life that's still free!!

I am a grazer, night is the worse. At least your choice was a healthy choice. I am looking for low cal, healthy choice snacks for evening. I have a problem with craving salty things. right now I have 100 calorie pop corn in the cupboard. If I count calories tho. this has to be added in.

Practice the Golden Rule~ Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!!

That happens to me. It helps me to be tracking my food so I can check my perceptions. Usually I find I'm short on protein, so something like your english muffin with peanut butter would be just the thing!

Don't beat yourself up too much! I have done that before too. Perhpas the soup wasn't filling enough and you just needed more. Next time, try reading or walking around the block to get your mind off it...or just eat half the english muffin. Start today new and don't worry, it happens to all of us.

Last night I experienced what I would call panic eating. I had finished dinner - a relatively good soup with raviolis. Anyway, I sat down and suddenly I felt that I was missing something or didn't know what to do next or I'm not really sure but the next thing I knew I had made myself toasted english muffin with peanut butter AND butter. Help! What's wrong? emoticon

He who aims at nothing usually hits it!
