Thank you LEC385!! I really appreciate your answer!! Sometimes I don't have pockets in my pants, and so I have to carry my phone in my hands, and when I'm really getting my walk on, I swing them like crazy!! I was really worried that would cause the reading to be way off. Now I know! I hope you have a great Wednesday!! :)

Short answer: It doesn't make a difference where you have the GPS.

Longer answer: Swinging your arms while holding your phone doesn't affect the tracking because GPS tracking is tracking your position rather than acceleration like a pedometer. If you want, I can go chapter and verse into how consumer grade GPS is only accurate to within 30ft because of the frequencies smartphones have access to and the lack of a decent receiver in the phone due to space and power requirements.

tl;dr: Don't worry about it and have fun on your walk!

When I am out for a walk, and I have my SP GPS tracker on, will holding my phone in my hands, while I am swinging my arms, cause the reading to be inaccurate? I just wondering if the swinging of the arms throws off the mph, giving it a higher 'calories burned' calculation. Is it better to have my tracker in my pocket, where it is stable? Any information you could give me is highly appreciated! I am puzzled about this. Thank you in advance! emoticon emoticon
