Personality typing is an interest of mine. Differences between the various types can cause dissonance or result in great "team" interactions. For me, the biggest insight was in realizing that "different" isn't equivalent to "wrong," and that each PT has its own unique gifts to bring to a relationship - or even just as a tool for better understanding others and yourself.
The MBTI is a personality typing assessment which is used in many individual and business applications. You may find the longer "instrument" in career development, it's used in many military applications, and is invaluable for simply helping us all get along and understand and appreciate each other.
I found a free online version - much shortened from the classic version - which is simple and pretty accurate. My result, based upon the description given in the introduction, was identical to the result I got from the longer "test" (it's not a "test" - there are no right or wrong answers). Here's the link to that site: www.personalitypathways.com/type_inventory
There are lots of other links on the page(s) which give deeper explanations of each of the 16 personality types. All well worth checking out.
I wonder what YOUR type is? I'd love to see a sharing, for those who are comfortable to do so.
Mine is INTJ.

...the problem with people these days is
they've forgotten we're really just animals ...
We did not create the web of life; we are but a strand in it.
We don't have souls. We ARE souls. We have bodies.
