I just lost my 100th pound!!!!! Yippeee!!!!
I lost 40 pounds in 6 months with a very strict diet and major exercise program. Then the loss slowed down and I lost 30 pounds over the next 1 year. Then it took another year to lose 20 pounds. Then over the next 4 years I put 30 pounds back on. It has taken almost a year to lose the last 40 pounds.
Could I have done it faster? Yeah, if I had stuck with it and not put weight back on.
How did I do it?
First, have a gallbladder attack that scares the living daylights out of you because you think you are having a heart attack.
Second have your doctor ask you if you plan on eating yourself to death.
Third, decide the answer is no and go on a medically supervised 1200 calorie diet with a 6 day a week exercise plan and stick with it. My doctor helped me correct a vitamin D deficiency as well as iron deficiency anemia. Also got my cholesterol and triglycerides and glucose under control with diet and exercise.
The best thing I did was to learn I suffer from portion distortion. Whatever is on my plate is a portion and I can eat it. I now measure everything I eat. It's funny, I can bake without measuring but can't serve myself a normal portion.
The sticking with it is the hard part....sigh....
I have to decide with every bite that I want to stay at a healthy weight. It is getting easier. I feel guilty if I Don't work out everyday. I actually put effort into working out, I sweat like a pig, lol.
I tell myself everyday that I deserve to be healthy, that I deserve to be normal weight, that I do NOT have to eat crappy food or be a human garbage disposal.
I will tell you the same thing.
You can do this.
You deserve to be healthy.
You deserve to be happy and to feel good.
