I bought my Misfit Shine over the holidays. I love it . it didn't come with a users manual so you will need to go to their website on the best uses. For walking/running and cycling, it is best to wear it on your shoe. For swimming on your wrist. it is a bit cumbersome, because you have to change the setting where you are wearing it on your phone. Kind of a pain. It is fairly accurate at keeping track of what you doing and how much of it you are doing. I have friends who wear the fitbit, they have the same problems. My biggest problem is getting misfit and sparkpeople to sync with each other. I have them set to sync, but for some reason it didn't work yesterday.

I just bought the Shine a couple of weeks ago when WW discontinued their device that I used while swimming.
Would love to add a couple of friends to motivate me to move a little more. I have another device that I use to count my steps, but having something that tracks activity when I'm swimming or riding my bike was a big plus.
I just got my shine yesterday. We went to the zoo today and wore the shine on one shoe and my Spark tracker on the other. The Shine says I did just over 4.5 miles and just under 12000 steps. The Spark says about 6000 steps and 2.8 miles. I guess I walked more with one foot than the other. I plan on doing a walk later this week and going to track it with gps to see which is right. I will wear both trackers again. Right now though I feel like I did the 4.5 miles and the 12000 steps the Shine is reporting.

I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. -Michael Jordan

I have one but quit using it. It told me I only burned 72 calories during 45 minutes of zumba. I've also been taking a boot camp style class, and I work my butt off in that class, it's a lot of weights and stuff, and there's no way to track appropriate calories for that class.
Just revisiting and refocussing my weight loss / fitness goals. just purchased a misfit shine. Used for a couple of weeks now and working fine..but i don't know anyone else with one so linking to the 'friends' page provides no motivation / friendly rivalries. Would be great if anyone out there could ADD me as friend so i can get that extra motivating boost. My username on the SHINE app is gazani.
I have the misfit flash. It has all the same features of the shine but is made of a hard plastic and cost half as much. I wear mine mostly on my wrist but which to my shoe during my walk away the pound workout and i put it on my swimsuit when i do water aerobics. I love this thing.
I did the other day on the treadmill, attached to my sneaker. I got a higher step count then I usually get on my wrist but I'd rather leave it on the watch so I don't stretch out the band moving it too much.
Got mine yesterday. I use LoseIt! to track my food, it syncs with that. Spark People has a better community though so I bump back and forth. My username is cherco on Shine would love some Shine spark friends!
I have had a Shine since last December. I love it! It's so easy to wear that I am rarely without it! I don't really trust the Calorie Counting feature, but I use it more to track activity anyway. If it could sync with SparkPeople it would be PERFECT!!!!
I just got my shine a few days ago and absolutely love it so far. I had the fitbit one and was always forgetting it when I would change clothes or when I would need to plug it in to charge. So far, I have been wearing it on my wrist (have the leather band coming in the mail) and it seems to work great. I love that it can be worn in the shower and that it syncs with my phone through blue tooth. What really drove me to purchase this particular one is that it is waterproof and apparently can be worn while swimming. I have also worn it while biking (clipping it to my shoe). It's super easy to tag activities/sleep (triple tap to start and then somehow it magically knows when you've stopped :)) and very easy to check progress (double tap to see lights light up or sync with your phone to get exact steps/ points for the day. By far this is the most beautiful of all the trackers.
Over all, I'm a huge fan.

So far so good. Got mine this weekend and I'm really liking it. I love that it's a little more discreet than some of the others and I'm excited to see what features will be added next. Who has experimented with different placements? So far it seems to be doing well on my wrist. I want to be careful not to get too caught up and maximizing my readings because I want to be accurate even if that means getting a little less credit. I am still using the fitness tracker for weight training and I am entering my activity but the shine really makes getting accurate time easy. I can't wait until they start offering to track other activities.
It's actually really cool. I had a Fitbit One, but didn't like that I had to clip it on. I've really liked the Shine, except for the lack of community around it like Fitbit has. So I'm really excited that they finally added it! It really helps to keep me motivated, and I've definitely been slacking, so this is perfect timing.

I had never heard of this so looked up the 'shine' monitor...it looks way cool and love the features and look, plus it measures sleep and can be worn in the water. When my BodyMedia fit wears out I will look into this option. Thanks!!
I just got mine this weekend, still getting used to it. I'm a little bummed that there's no online community for it yet, like there is for the Fitbit, but I love the design. Just wanted to see if there was anyone else out there using it!
