Things like ice cream and meringues are gluten free. Also, many local natural food stores will carry treats like muffins, breads, and bakery items that are gluten free. Udi's and Rudi's brands are a couple examples. Craving alcohol? Wine and ciders are great fermented options and many spirits are gluten free as well. Two of my sisters and a niece are gluten free, not due to Celiac's, and my family has a lot of experience dealing with it.

I have a friend with Celiac's Disease and she told me how hard it is. BUT, she overcame it -- making her own desserts.

Hi - here are a couple links - the first one is info on Celiac's Disease and the second one is suitable recipes:

www.celiac.com/

www.orgran.com/recipes-search

This third one is still the Orgran Company - their products, which are available in many countries. They are excellent - we use them for our Grandson who isn't Celiac but has many allergies. "All Orgran products are Gluten Free, Wheat Free, Dairy Free, Egg free, Yeast Free, GMO Free and Vegan."

Good luck,
Kris

I don't have Celiac's Disease, but have a friend that does. She has actually found MANY places now that are making various items, including sweets, that are gluten free. I believe Trader Joe's carries some of them (don't know where you live). In Kansas City, I just recently went into a tea shop that had baked goods, ALL of which were gluten free. I certainly told my friend about it.

Also, check recipes - gluten free is becoming much more common.

Good luck!!!

We'll back in January of 2013 I was diagnosed with Celiac's Disease and it's been complete HELL because I still love sweets and end up eating donuts, cookies and cake that has gluten in it so I get sick. Anyone else out there that has it and can help me?
