Two boys, 29 & 30, both long gone. One is in Thailand, haven't seen him in 3 years. The other is in the Army Nat'l Guard, married w/3 beautiful boys of his own. Love being a grandma. Seeing them go into the world was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Still miss having them around, but they're both fine, wonderful, independent young men with lives of their own. Young moms need to cherish every minute they have with their kids, it's all over in the blink of an eye. Cliche, yes, but so very true.

emoticon It is tough, but love to see them independent down the road. Six kids - 2 out of the nest...4 to go. 3 grandchildren...so far.

My husband and I have one child still at home. He is 21 and I have to admit I am sad thinking about the day he moves out. We do enjoy our freedom now and look forward to grandchildren one day in the future.

When my oldest daughter moved out, I was sad for several months. Then I got use to it and by her junior year, it was like, ok when do I get my house back. This year my youngest is moving out too and I know it will be an adjustment but part of me is really looking forward to having no one to be accountable to and eating when and where we want to and not having to run kids here and there.

I can do it!!

My daughter moved out at the age of 25. I was in no hurry for her to leave. but it was time..
Shes now married and has two little boys... And she lives close by.. :-) My son lives in N.Y
5 hours away.. I don't like that.. But now my husband and I are still young enough to enjoy life.

I CAN DO THIS

Take pride in a job well done! As moms, we strive to raise our kids to be strong, independent, caring and loving. Sounds like you have taught your baby chick well as she is now ready to fly, as she should.

And how do you feel about that? My parentals were excited for me. But Dad did get a little misty when we were done.
