I never buy them because they're a waste of money. However, I do visit the online websites to catch up on the gossip emoticon
My husband will occasionally pick a gossip magazine up for me as a little surprise (especially if we are traveling somewhere). Although honestly I'd much rather have a good novel!

I haven't bought one in years. But I will breeze through one waiting at the doctor's office or hairdresser. And even that's less these days since I have a Kindle app on my iPhone and will usually read a book.

Not for me, I don't know who most of the "celebritites" are - I often glance at them while waiting in line at the grocery store, but I don't know who most of the people are.

I guess part of this is because I don't have cable or satellite so I don't watch a lot of tv and therefore don't know who the stars are as a result.

To me, gossip magazines, porn, and televised golf are all alike. They're about watching complete strangers do things that are really only interesting if you do them yourself. Why would I care if some actress on some show I've never seen is too fat or too thin? I barely have enough time and attention to care if *I* am too fat or too thin. I certainly can't see giving any of my hard-earned money to the people who produce the stuff. I'll save my money so I can go on a nice vacation, instead of reading about Brangelina going on one. (Do they still talk about Brangelina?)

Loved what ETHELMERZ said! Yes, that stuff can be good for a chuckle or a guffaw, but on a very rare occasion. Usually, it's just not that compelling for me, though.

I don't buy them. I will read them in the waiting room and someone bought a bunch of them and left them in the break room once. I am too stingy to spend my money on a gossip magazine.

I used to love People. It used to be the most reliable source for celebrity stories. In the past couple years it has gotten to gossipy for my taste

No, I'll read them in line at the grocery store or when I'm waiting for an appointment. The few times I bought one and read it front to back I felt like I'd just eaten a bag of Cheetos: empty and unfulfilling calories and my fingers were slightly dirty!

The grocery store line is about the only place I will look at the gossip rags. If you read the google news entertainment section, you know everything that is in those publications. It's just hard copy of things we already know. So, why pay money for it ?

I consider the gossip rags over priced for what you get.

Lol, somebody must be reading that stuff because I keep seeing it at the grocery check out lane, with pictures mostly of too heavy or too thin people and covered faces and headlines say, "Guess who this is!"

Since I don't care who it is, I don't think buying the tabloid or mag is worth it.

I've bought People a few times.

Usually I only read those types of magazines when I'm in a waiting room or getting my hair done and forgot to bring a book.

my former MIL would always give me her copies of the National Enquirer when we were headed out for a road trip. I would tell her THANKS...then dump them in the trash the first time we stopped.

how can ANYBODY read that crap??? emoticon

of course, you can learn the secret to losing 50lbs in a month...

I might glance at the cover while I'm waiting in the check out line, but I don't pick them up and flip through. My DH on the other hand, loves to look through them while we're waiting. He views them as fabulous comic entertainment-- which one can make the most stupid, outrageous claims this week. I think it's the only reason he ever goes grocery shopping with me, since he doesn't help at all with picking out the food.

I take pride in the fact I have NEVER bought National Enquirer, Globe, or even People though I don't think People is as bad. I have read People in Dr.'s offices and sometimes it is interesting and I think their information is a bit more verified (but still with tons of bias) than the Enquirer, etc. articles.

I have picked up Enquirer, etc. while waiting in line at the grocery store, looked, and put it back. I have read others issues if they are lying around in their homes when I am visiting, or whatever.

Craft magazines, or even mags like Ladies Home Journal or Redbook are NOT in the same league and I have bought them before, though not recently since I get what I want on the Internet.

The only magazines I purchase are 'helpful' ones - crafts, specific types of cooking, and sometimes exercise.

I find that they are not worth wasting my money

I will pick one up at the newsstand and rifle thru it while waiting for the cashier but really, I feel they are a big, fat waste of money! Especially if the mags are imported and expensive!

I'd rather buy a diet and fitness mag or even The Malaysian Women's Weekly or CLEO, if any of the articles interest me. But some the women's weekly doesn't even apply to me as I'm not married, I don't even have boyfriend and I don't have any kids! So, still a waste of money, which is why I don't buy every issue, only those that apply to me!

I mean selling gossip mags is the reason that the paparazzi chase celebs around so diligently in the first place!
