I can respect that too... I just know that when I use them, I feel fine and so far it's not temporary. I don't sweat either so I am not sure where the water weight goes. I was told if you are wrapping to lose water weight that you have to limit your liquid intake because that is what makes you gain the water weight back. So far I have maintained my weight loss and inch loss. I am not 100% saying that it's solely the wraps but my stretchmarks have faded, my skin is tighter and looks so much healthier.

I really don't know what to tell anyone except for my own experience. And in my opinion, everything is temporary. If I stop exercising and eating healthy too, I'll gain again. I was told with water weight loss, you gain it back same day or in a day. So far I haven't gained anything back. Again, this is my own personal experience.

I stopped using SparkPeople for 4 months and gained 10 pounds. I've since lost 12lbs and 3.5 inches thanks to being back with SparkPeople as well as It Works Products.

Journey started 08/01/2013 and my goal is to lose 139 pounds...

I actually tried them when a friend kept posting about them. So far 12lbs down and 3.5 inches. It's not water loss and you should not get sick from being dehydrated. If you do, it's because you aren't drinking water. You should be drinking 2 bottles of water while wearing the wrap and at least half your body weight in ounces of water for 3 days after. It's not water loss or you wouldn't be asked to drink so much water. And yes it is "temporary" but so is diet and exercise if you quit that and go back to sitting on the couch eating what you want. Everything is temporary depending on what you do to get the results you are getting.

After 3 weeks of using the wraps and other products, I became a distributor because I am happy and proud of the jumpstart that It works gave me on my journey to weightloss. The financial aspect of it is a plus too.

It's not for everyone if you aren't willing to do what you are supposed to do but I can say that even before signing up as a distributor, I had my friends and family try it and there wasn't one person that didn't see results. But again, they followed all of the instructions.

Just my two cents... Have a great day!!

I've been working in the beauty industry for 19 years next month. I have taken classes/given body wraps. The tape measure doesn't lie. But,, I have to be honest, the inches come back. There is no quick fix for true weight loss, besides lipo/ healthy diet/exercise. And, when I have had wraps done on my self, I get VERY sick. Worse than regular dehydration. I feel horrible for days afterwards. emoticon

Every day is a new beginning.

I did a body wrap once and did see a small inch change for a day or so but basically it just sucks the water out of you and it comes back. It felt good and was a relaxing experience but don't expect miracles and know that the loss is short term.

Lay aside life-harming heaviness and entertain a cheerful disposition.

Anarie, YES, they did. The initial invite to the so-called "party" was done via company email, and that didn't go over too well at all. However, a person determined to multi-level-market on company time has subtle ways of continuing to go about their business, all in the name of "I'm just talking to my friends on my lunch break" so it gets hard to discourage, until someone actually lodges a complaint. It's a smallish-sized organization and an otherwise nice person, so nobody really wants to "go there." And as I mentioned, she gained two paying customers...

Goal 1 - break 200 (46 pounds lost)**DONE**
Goal 2 - leave obesity behind (BMI 29.9, at 185#) **DONE**
Goal 3 - BMI = Normal (154# or less)

Bunnykicks,

Wouldn't your HR department have something to say about an employee running a home business through the office? It's one thing to have a Tupperware party or leave a Pampered Chef's catalog around the break room; those are one-time, voluntary things. Charging for the party and hooking people into a continuing "treatment" series, on the other hand, would definitely affect the workplace dynamic. The people who bought it can't quit without seeing her at work every day and having to justify their decision. That's almost reaching the level of hostile working environment.

Waaaaay too expensive for me, no question about it, I don't have that much money!

I'd rather do it the old fashioned way : watching my diet and exercising!

What I hate to see are doctor's offices promoting beauty treatments and spa services for additional income sources. I do believe in massage therapy as it is good for the lymphatic system and scrubs are beneficial for good cell growth and over all well being.

I liken the wraps to a plastic sweat suit to run in. Temporary and unhealthful and costly.

I haven't tried the "it works" wraps, and I don't plan on it. I get so annoyed with acquaintances of mine trying to get me to buy them.

I don't really believe that wraps are good for losing weight or inches. But that being said I do give myself a body treatment about once a month or so because I think the nutrients in the mask I use are good for the skin. I work at a spa though so I'm able to get product pretty cheap so it's not too expensive to do for myself.

Ugh, a co-worker has been intent on selling these - mostly by encouraging her friends and co-workers to buy them. She held a 'wrap party' recently - kind of like a tupperware party except she required PAYMENT of $35 to "test" one wrap (and then hundreds more to buy a series of the darned things). I declined to attend. She now has a handful of customers who have purchased beyond the "initial trial $35" and.... well what can I say, the ones I know of - don't look one darned bit different for their significant cash outlays.

My intelligence was highly offended by the marketing material she distributed in advance of her 'party' - in which claims were made that the wrap would "metabolize the fat beneath the skin" (IMPOSSIBLE). The corporate website won't say exactly that - just that it can cause you to "tone" and "lose inches" that you can then "maintain through healthy diet and exercise". Which - pfffft. Pass on the super-expensive wraps, they are not a jump-start or shortcut.

Do they even claim weight loss, or is it just "inches?"

If they say you'll lose weight, they're scamming you. If it's just about inches, then... It's a rip-off because of the price, but not exactly a scam. A lot of people will get a few minutes or even hours of compression from a wrap like that, especially if they're obese or have a high body fat percentage. The same thing happens with Spanx; when you take them off, sometimes your tummy stays squished in for a while.

If you think of it as a cosmetic, then it's all a lot clearer. If you've got a really, really special occasion coming up where it's super important for your belly to look a little flatter and you can't do it with an undergarment, that's what this stuff is for. But I just can't think of any event where it would be worth $25 for one application of a cosmetic that would disappear in a few hours. Unless it was like a bikini photo shoot, maybe?

By the way, "It works" seems like a popular brand because it's sold by multi-level marketing. The people who are talking it up are "distributors" who lose money if they don't sell a certain amount and eventually snag at least one more person to sell it under them. Whenever a product is sold by MLM, you can't trust testimonials, because so many of the sellers are scared and desperate and 100% willing to place fake reviews wherever they can.

I found a few articles and old message board threads supporting the fact that body wraps are indeed a scam and perhaps not healthy:

_worst_diet_scams_of_2011

www.sparkpeople.com/ma/It-Works-body-wraps

There are plenty out there, some even saying body wraps are so great. Honestly, I firmly think it's a HUGE scam. They may help with a temporary loss or shrinkage in an area but there's no healthy way to spot reduce.

I've never heard of this product. So, I did a google search and found it on amazon. Have you read any of the amazon reviews of this product ? There are 70 five star reviews and 109 one star reviews.

www.amazon.com/health-personal-care/dp/B00

It's a scam. The only way this product makes you lighter is by parting you and your money.

I truly wish there was an easy way to lose weight and trim your middle. There isn't. Weight loss is a slow steady process that takes time.

If you eat right, watch your portions and get some regular exercise that includes some strength training, you will lose weight with time. But, you really do have to give your body time to change. there are NO fast ways to lose weight in spite of what these products say.
