I agree that you shouldn't purchase on how cute something is. Personally, I prefer Apple products as I know they are tough and last a long time. In my home, we have 2 MacBooks, 4 iPods, an iPhone and an iPad. I actually got the iPad free by switching to Dish. And I have been wanting it for a long time. And I know Apple stands by their products.

EOWYN2424,

The ipad mini is a status symbol, nothing more. When the model came out, rumor was that it was supposed to compete with the Amazon Kindle and BN Nook. That wasn't the case. It is not an affordable ereader. It is merely a smaller version of the ipad and just as expensively priced at $350. When I'm out and about, I see people with ipads. NOT minis.

If you're looking for functionality, you want the Samsung. Samsung has been much more innovative with its products recently, more so than Apple. Apple looks great, but their software and hardware have been lagging behind the industry. Also, folks are fed up having to pay for all the proprietary products necessary to even use an Apple product.

I know that when my ipod dies, I'm looking at Samsung. Samsung products are upgradable. If you want to upgrade your Apple product, you need to buy a new one.

Buy a product you think you will use on a regular basis. Don't buy something because it's cute. That's a waste of money. Unless you have money. If you have disposable income, you can buy whatever you want.

Depends on what you will be using it for the most. We are an "Apple" family. It comes down to quality for us. Six in the family home and we have 2 iPad minis, 1 iPad, 1 MacBook and 3 iPhones in house...oh and 2 iPod Touch. I think the iPad mini is functional enough for reading. The iPad is bigger and has been dropped (w/o a scratch). But it was dropped because of it being bigger, harder to hold at times.

That is my 2.

I really can't decide!

A Samsung 7 inch Tab is so portable but a 10 inch Samsung Tab gives you better visibility for reading e-books but is way heavier and not so portable.

While an Ipad mini is just so darn cute! But has no mini-SD card slot like a Samsung Tab.

Which one would you choose? And why?
