Every day of my life...I'm surprisingly not a DW follower, although I do like it. I love Hamish Macbeth (anyone?), Monty Python, Green Wing, Spaced, Sherlock, Fry & Laurie, Little Britain (although sometimes it can be a bit too rude), The IT Crowd, Black Books, and I'm sure there are more.

We watch Keeping up Appearances - my entire family loves that show. And Mr. Bean is a long ago favorite of mine. Whenever I need a laugh. Mr. Bean has it for me. They are old, but still pretty relevant to me!

Oh yeah! we're a totally dedicated household!

Dr Who (especially Tom Baker...jelly babies and That SCARF!)
Fawlty Towers
Butterflies
Keeping Up Appearances
Sherlock
Black Adder
Red Dwarf
Inspectors Morse, Lewis...
Poirot
Masterpiece Theatre (the best part is that fainting woman on the crypt in the beginning! LOL)
As Time Goes By
Waiting For God
All Creatures (the Herriott series -- I can't stop seeing one of the Dr Whos as Tristan!)

and what is that one, don't remember the name...the couple "going native" with a garden and all in the suburbs? hehehe

Brit humor is definitely different, sometimes twisted, but not usually inane, like the slop we get here.
I like the more realistic "feel" (yes, maybe not as glitzy as H'wood) of the filming, too.
And I love to see the countryside and environs. Cheap thrills for a would-be traveler!
I like to check in with their news too. At least the propaganda they get isn't insider stuff aimed at us.

...the problem with people these days is
they've forgotten we're really just animals ...
(attributation forgotten)

We did not create the web of life; we are but a strand in it.

I love all of the British comedies. It started with Monty Python for me. I also like BBC news and it covers the more-important news stories and in more detail. Not too many mentions of Kim K or Paula Deen for instance.

Yes Doc Martin, Copper, Graham Norton, old Star Trek:TNG episodes, Luther and Bang! I have more of the British sense of humour and sensibility according to many people who know what I watch on TV. I don't find most US comedies funny at all. Most I find absolutely horrid. I did enjoy Frasier and Mad About You go figure~

Oh these lists bring back memories. Morse, Foyle, Sherlock and Midsomer are definitely favorites. But I am reluctant to watch any new Midsomer episodes without Barnaby. Oh I had forgotten all about Ab Fab and Black Adder--they were hilarious! And I too cannot believe they are killing off Matthew--that really sucks.

Okay, so here's a BBC show that I watch that hasn't been listed, Black Adder with Rowan Atkinson. Now that was hilarious. Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie are great in that too.

I liked Mr Bean. Mr Bean was just plain ODD. I had a hard time with that show. However, I did enjoy the Thin Blue Thin. That was terrific.

Huge fan!! Besides pretty much everything listed here, I'm also a huge fan of the Law & Order: UK series and Jeeves and Wooster. If you like Brit comedies, you'll *love* Jeeves and Wooster.

The Brits do sci-fi so well: Sanctuary, Red Dwarf, Doctor Who, etc.

Monarch of the Glen, Top Gear (most watched TV show in the world, btw), Eastenders, (the originial) The Office, The Tudors.

New series: The White Queen (based on the Phillipa Gregory books - looks fantastic!)

I love "Copper" on BBC. I watched it last season and instantly loved how authentic the clothing, the background; just everything is. The characters also seem so authentic and I must say, Cochran is so hot. I missed the 1st episode for the 2nd season, but will catch up. Most shows on BBC I can't get into. I guess it's because of the cultural differences between us and them. Guess we've pulled away from the mother land in many ways.

slowly but surely, it will happen

I like Doctor Who, especially Nine and Ten, I liked the Eleventh Doctor but the story lines started to get a bit tiresome to me and then I didn't have cable anymore to try and keep up. Sherlock I bought on DVD after seeing so much of the pix and gifs on Tumblr. That was an instant love.

I remember Coupling, just barely but I know I loved it when I watched it. (LOL...dang, I'm old and showing it but I've watched a little bit of Brit tv between now and then!)

I like British TV - but then I'm British! I loved Downton Abbey, but such a shame they killed off Matthew. (Inevitable though as he wanted to move to Hollywood.)
I loved Call the Midwife too (but you should read the books if they're available across the pond as they're better than the TV programme and give a lot more detail.)
A touch of Frost, Morse, Lewis and Poirot have been favourites of mine over the years, and I always watch Casualty every week. (No-one's mentioned that - do you get Casualty? It's been going since 1986 and has a spin off programme called Holby City.)
Glad lots of you seem to like our British comedy too!

I love it too! My all-time favorites are probably A Bit of Fry and Laurie and Doc Martin.

I am currently LOVING a comedy called Miranda. The first season is available on Hulu right now, but I am going to have to track down the subsequent two seasons online. I laughed like a hyena. The actress who plays Miranda is the one who plays Chummy on Call the Midwife.

For the person looking for Season 2 of Call the Midwife, I think that it is available at pbs.org.

Why do so many British shows have such limited seasons? I loved Kingdom, which ran a few years ago, but there are so few episodes. The same with the new version of Sherlock--great, but 3 episodes per season? Come on!

I am less interested in period costume dramas (hate anything Jane Austen-y) but did enjoy Downton Abbey. The first two seasons were much stronger than the third though. I hate that they are killing off the Matthew character...boo!

Dances: salsa (standard/LA), casino, rueda de casino, cumbia Colombiana, bachata, mambo, cha-cha-chá, merengue, reggaetón.

Currently learning: Mexican cumbia, danzón, Cuban rumba

Dances to Learn in the future: flamenco, tango Argentino, samba, belly dancing, bhangra, ballroom rumba

I emoticon BBC TV !

Over the years, I've watched Masterpiece Theatre and Mystery. Anyone for Upstairs, Downstairs ? There would be no Downton Abbey without Upstairs, Downstairs. How about Brideshead Revisited ? I, Claudius... the Jewel in the Crown. Prime Suspect ! I can go on and on with some of the British shows I've watched. Remember when they did the Shakespeare plays ? those were fantastic.

And along with Monty Python, I'm going to add Benny Hill.

So, yeah, I'm a Anglophile !

YES! My favorites are Masterpiece Mystery & Classic. Also the comedies like Keeping Up Appearances & As TIme Goes By. I used to like Are you Being Served but it does not come on anymore.

In addition to many of the shows mentioned in earlier posts, I am a big fan of the "Mystery" series that PBS has shown on Sundays at 9 pm for years -- in particular, Inspector Frost and now, Inspector Lewis.

... and I was a regular viewer of "All Creatures Great and Small" years ago.

Ah, Downton Abbey, I haven't seen it yet but I will. For some reason I tend to always be behind the trend of popular British tv by at least a few years. *g* I'm a hardcore believer that a British accent is SUPER sexy....and the men over there are really, really hot!

One of the funniest things I find on British television at the moment is Mrs Brown's Boys but like the previous poster Monty Python is sheer British classic comedy, along with Fawlty Towers and Only Fools and Horses.

I just finished watching the first season of Call the Midwife on Netflix, can't wait til they add the second season. Then there's Downton Abbey of course. I also watched another show call Land Girls but it wasn't that good. Nice costumes though.

Working on maintaining at 140!
