I use to be a medical assistant at a OB- GYN I was never told that you get HPV or can avoid it by your diet. I was told by a very prestigious doctor that I worked for that you can contract it by sexual relations. You have to think that for every person you sleep with your actually sleeping with 5 that's how he'd explain it to the patients cause you never know how many that person slept with and the one before them.
Human Papiloma Virus means warts and there are numbers given to these warts they can be microscopic and are on the cervix. I was told that a lot of European doctors do Colps instead of a pap smear because it's more accurate, but seems like a lot say they get paps and ultrasounds which I never heard of getting a ultrasound unless you had distinct problems, but I guess anything is possible in other countries.
It was good that you followed up with you doctor and had the leep your cervix is like a hot dog and when you get a Leep done it's like they take the core out (how it was explained to me). That leep should of taken care of it, not a new diet I've never heard of that.
When I was a medical assistant I had a book which we'd all call our bible which had the names of patients that had had suspicious paps and I'd have to care more about these patients health then they did themselves because I'd have to make sure they'd follow up and a lot didn't care too.
You had a stage 3 which I'm glad to hear your fine from it can be very scary, sometimes at lower stages you can get cryo to freeze off the hpv cells.
I was fortunate to see what they look like during a few Colposcopy's with the physician and with the permission of the patient they look mosaic, during the Colp which a lot of people are afraid of (which if you need to get one don't hesitate it's nothing really and could save your life) they put regular vinegar on the cervix what they are looking for is anything that turns white (vinegar is an acid) now you can have cells that turn white and then what they'll do is take a biopsy, just because something turns white doesn't always mean it's bad. But they have to be sure to have it biopsied.
You can also get Condyloma from hpv which I have seen that it can look like Cauliflower down in the genital area, or can just look like warts. These are all sexually transmitted even if you have one partner you can get it if he's carrying the virus and he may not even show signs of it because again most are microscopic. Usually we'd hear if a woman only had one partner and she went back to that guy and said hey you gave me HPV he'd say not me I don't have anything , but really it's microscopic and he might not even know he has it.
I've never heard anything about a diet changing a diagnosis, your Leep is what got rid of the cancer. People who stay with the same partner for years are usually at a lower risk, because if your paps have been coming back fine still with the same partner puts you at a lower risk.
Everyone has some of the numbers but there are only a few that can cause the cervical cancer, I'm glad you caught yours on time.........
There is a test that you can ask for when you go to the doctor just for HPV, not a lot of people realize this that's why I'm throwing this out there.
I was also told that only a person that is a virgin and was born C section is totally free of HPV , we all have certain numbers most are benign, it's the few that have the cancer with them.
Also know that just because you have a suspicious pap doesn't mean you have anything wrong , if the pathologist even sees a shadow of some sort he'll call it suspicious so that the patient needs to have it done over (better safe then sorry) so a lot of suspicious ones end up being over reading by the pathologist to save them from a lawsuit (as there was a lab around me that wasn't that cautious and a few people did have cervical cancer so after that they were very strict with any little thing they saw and had patient return).
Don't be afraid if you get a call to return for a pap, most times it's nothing but you always have to go back to get it redone just in case you are one of the few that really does have something going on.
Starting to like the new me!
Waiting for my garden to come to life!
