I have had a series of goals that have changed as my situation has changed. I have a "fantasy goal" that just popped into my head as I was meditating on the subject -- what I weighed as a freshman in college, the last time I felt good about my weight and my body. That weight is 118 and I doubt I will ever be that weight again.
When I first started my journey -- at 203 pounds -- I just wanted to down to 180, what I had weighed 10 years earlier. That would be a size that would fit most of my clothes. I knew how to dress at that size.
When I hit that weight, I lowered my goal to 160 -- as that would take out of the "obese" category of BMI and into the "overweight" category. It would also drop me a size.
Now I am focusing on getting "under 150" -- a nice, round number -- and it would put me at the "50 pounds lost" category. But I have set an official goal of 135, which would put me in the "healthy" category of BMI.
Good question. I have struggled a little with setting goals throughout this journey and will be interested in reading what others have to say.
