Hi! Just happened to pop in during a 5-minute "surf break" and I gotta say THANK YOU ALL, because you didn't know it, but you're all talking to me!! Too much stuff going on with loved ones to be very concerned with me right now, so the little bit of progress I made is almost gone! I'll try my best to not beat myself up for the back-flip, and start over with dinner tonight! Thanks again!! emoticon

On the last point of the OP's original post about being ready this time: when I got to that point it was an underwhelming event, in other words, no countdown date, no big announcement, nothing, nada, zilch. I just started doing it and didn't tell a soul. I didn't even know I was actually ready, it just started to happen after many times of "trying".

Personally, if my husband said that to me, I would be extra motivated to prove him wrong. Also, allow yourself the occasional "mess up". This is a lifestyle change and years of bad habits don't disappear overnight. If a lot of changes at once are scary, make smaller goals like eating at least 5 fruits and veggies a day, measuring your food, and/or aiming for exercise 3 days a week/

Motivated - you will have some "detours" on your journey to a healthier life---trust me, I know from experience! Whenever I have an off day (or week or month), I have to shake off my regrets and self-incrimination and just focus on the next good decision. Whether it's going to the gym, NOT going back for seconds, or choosing a healthier option for dinner, just making that one good choice helps me point my nose in the right direction again.

Don't give up, OK? Try to learn something from this, pick yourself up and keep on going.

Love all the encouragement - I needed to read this also, since I'm not having much success either.

What helpful advice you offer. I am in the same state as the original author...won't give up but will start the ideas you gave and others I was noodling in my head. Thanks again.

Find a way to get an appt. with a real, live, dietitian, who can advise what is right for you and only you. Don't listen to your boyfriend, he isn't you, your reason's to eat are not the same as his or anyone elses. A dietitian can help you figure out what works for you, foods that you actually enjoy so you can stay eating healthy. If you hate certain diet foods, don't eat them, if you are not satisfied, you won't be able to stick to it. Keep it simple.

Well, keep going to the gym regularly and have a workout routine plan. Walk as much as you can. Instead of driving, walk or use a bike, and, instead of using the elevator, walk the stairs. Eat healthy food, divide it up into 3 meals plus1 or 2 snacks, watch portions, keep a journal, plan ahead. Stay within the tracker parameter ranges. Drink water. Take it one day at a time, and when that day is done, put it behind you, and the next day you get a clean slate and you just deal with that day. emoticon emoticon

Ok so almost a month since I was going to be on the road to lose weight. Well the update is that I am still at the same weight. Although I did join a gym and have been working out I started eating bad again :(. I am not proud of it and I am absolutely not happy with how I am acting so I definitely need to change. Ugh so here we go again, to start all over! I will give it my all cause after I binge I always say I wont do it again, and worst of all my boyfriend is the one who said that. Anyways keeping it strong this time I am soooooo ready!
