I weight at home on the same scale every week, first thing in the morning, wearing or not wearing the same thing everytime. Chances are that at a drs office you will have more clothes on and shoes that can add weight. I used to do WW's and my scale was always within .4 of what their scale said. I think consistency is the key. I also tend to weigh myself 3 times in a row to make sure i get the same number each time. I do this because I have to move my scale out from the wall to use it and moving it can get you a bad read.

Goals

April ~ 5 lbs goal met actual (5.4 lbs)

Visit a friend's house to break the tie. :)

If you're looking for loss, it doesn't matter which scale you use, as long as you always use the same one. :)

For me it's all about a properly calibrated scale no matter where it is.

I would go by the number on the scale that you use the most often and under the same conditions so that it is consistent. That is most likely your home scale unless you weigh in pretty frequently somewhere else.

You can check if your scale is accurate by weighing something you know the weight of.

I weigh once a week on my scale at home at the same time of day and under the same conditions and use that number. If I weighed at the doctor's office or a gym every week at the same time then I might use that number.

I always take my weight as the first thing in the morning, at home.... My doctor's office is not a convenient place for me to get to often! But if you happen to walk past your's every afternoon for instance, that would work too.

All weight is 'relative' so to speak...You will usually weigh ""more"" in the afternoon (after having eaten breakfast, lunch, snacks & having lots of water...) and not all scales are accurate. So I think you are best off to a) use the same scale and b ) at the same time of day

And,...as long as you are consistent, the accuracy of your "real weight" really doesn't matter!! What is far more important is to observe the trend over time: are you going down, maintaining, or gaining??? There in lies the truth! emoticon
