Yup... I always eat dinner late, and it has not caused me any problems. In fact it's 830 here and I just finished eating a nearly 700 calorie dinner :)
I think when you hear "don't eat after 6" or whatever, that's more for folks who tend to snack a lot at night, like while watching TV after dinner. If you're a person that has a problem with snacking at night, then eating dinner later might actually help.
If it works for your lifestyle to have dinner late, then go for it. Like for me, I don't even get home from work til 6 or 7, so eating dinner earlier than 8 is usually impossible since I cook scratch dinners every night.
