They may not be legal age to drink but they do anyway

We had Grad Night twenty years ago and it was so much fun. Now I think that my High School has an after prom party. Kids showed up to my prom plastered, but that is a whole other story.

Nice answer bunny. I thought all people knew some and probably most kids will try alcohol before they become legal age.

Ivy, basically a "sober grad" or "dry grad" just means a school or community-sponsored event that the kids can attend (at which there will, obviously, be no alcohol). This gives the kids an option.

Without giving them an event to attend, they will create their own party events. Which - "old enough" doesn't enter into it - where there's a will, there's a way, and at 18, they find a lot of ways.

So it is nice when something is arranged for them, that is fun, celebratory, and "dry."

Goal 2 - leave obesity behind (BMI 29.9, at 185#) **DONE**
Goal 3 - BMI = Normal (154# or less)

After both prom and graduation, my high school hosted free after-parties to keep kids from going out and drinking. The limo that we hired for prom had a very strict no alcohol policy and if we broke it, the driver would refuse to drive us.

High school grads aren't old enough to drink. Why do you need a sober party?
