The road of life is often bumpy. I have earned every gray hair and that is going to stay that way. Nothing artificial is needed, desired or wanted.

If someone does not like the way I look, that is THEIR problem, not mine and their opinion is none of my business.

36 and just started going gray...well white actually. Have just a few at my temples and that doesnt work for me. lol I hope I age well enough to not feel like I need "help". But for the last few years I've wanted a breast reduction, mostly because I feel my massive breasts make the rest of me look bigger than I am. And if I was going to get them reduced, then I'd want them lefted back up to where they should be. ;)

Goals
March ~ 7 lbs goal met actual (9.4 lbs)
April ~ 5 lbs goal met actual (5.4 lbs)
May ~ 7 lbs goal met actual (7.2 lbs)
June ~ 3-4 lbs goal met actual (3.6 lbs)
July ~ 2-3 lbs

In my opinion, its about doing whatever makes you comfortable in your skin.. I have some gray and prefer to use a ammonia free color since it is not as drying as those containing ammonia. using a shade close to my natural color. I also use a plant based moistureizer on my face. If I would consider a face lift or a mini lift, it would be to make myself look less tired looking/better, and not to look years younger which is impossible to achieve. But for now, plain simple me.

Its not exercise, its going outside to play!

Phyllis Diller is famous for talking about the different cosmetic surgery procedures she'd had over the years. But, she knew when to stop. She didn't end up with that face in a wind tunnel look. She did age gracefully even with the extra bit of work. One of the many different reasons why I always liked her. She was funny and honest.

The most drastic thing that I'll do is color my hair, but I don't want to look plastic and fake. I want to be able to smile and see my face move and I'm proud of my age and every wrinkle is from a path in my life and even though sometimes the path is difficult I wouldn't want to erase them they make me who I am.

Starting to like the new me!
Waiting for my garden to come to life!

A bit of both... I color my hair since I'm no ready for streaky grey (I'm approaching my 63d birthday and have some grey. Plastic surgery and botox don't appeal but I'd consider some tucks to get rid of excess flesh as the fat is going away. I wear make up,but don't worry much about the lines and imperfections... most of them are laugh lines, anyhow!

I'm grateful to be healthy!

I think if it makes me happy...yeah I would have PS. That said, I don't want to look like I'm in my twenties, I just don't want to scare the grandkids. I think there are limits. I color my hair, workout, eat right and would even consider a nip and tuck if I felt it would be helpful.
I have a friend that had a facelift but doesn't workout. She looks pretty rough. No matter how much surgery you have you still have to take care of yourself.

Somewhere in between. I hope to be able to afford some lifting in the near future. My eyes are puffy since I have allergies. My upper eyelids are drooping. I'm starting to develop jowls. I definitely don't want to be stretched as tight as Joan Rivers, though.

I would never do a face lift even though I do have that "waddle" under my chin like a turkey. Well, not as prevalent as a turkey but it's there. An audience member on Dr, Oz once showed a yoga exercise to help lessen that turkey neck and I've been doing that. I only do it at home as it looks kind of funny to do the exercise using your mouth and lips out in public. They'd think I was going crazy. I will be having my hair highlighted next month but not because of gray hair but because my hair is so dark and my youngest son is getting married. I just want to lighten it up a bit so it's not so dark. I normally wouldn't do anything to my hair at all. I do feel and want to age gracefully.

The most beautiful women I've seen have natural white hair & wrinkles showing they've LIVED! And laughed, and loved, and fought, and worked, and enjoyed life. Faces weren't meant to be solid plastic & immovable. :)

Fake will never be as beautiful as the real deal.

It Is What It Is.... :)

Right now I say gracefully - at almost 48 I can see the wrinkles coming, but am not too scared...maybe I will feel differently in a few years though... A few days ago my 11 year old son asked me why I look so much younger than daddy...even though daddy is older - lol! Love that kid!!! I told him it was cause I have more hair!!! But I think losing 95 pounds made me look younger - for some reason i think my husband's weight loss has made him look a bit older...

I think the most important thing is not how you look - but how old you feel and ACT!! If I am still hiking and going to the beach in my 80's I will be happy!!

emoticon I hope I can age gracefully! If I did end up being able to afford more, it'd be about skin removal if anything! Even that scares me. Hopefully I do this right and don't need anything because I'll be healthy inside and out!

For me personally, I will grow old gracefully.
I like who I am.
Just like I'm proud of the gray in my hair, I'm also proud of my wrinkles and sags too.
It's the real physical body I have.
I am showing my age. So what, it's the real me.
I'm not going to fake or try to hide who I am.

I wont get plastic surgery. I had stomach surgery almost 20 years ago and the recovery was so difficult. I decided that the only way I would ever have surgery again is to really need it.

I do go to the salon and get highlights. I don't know what I will do if I ever need all over color. I will not use grocery store color.

Gracefully - can't stand the thought of elective surgery as I hate going to the doc for a check-up let alone going in for something so frivolous. I can think of SO many other things to spend that kind of money on, particularly since it will continue to decline because that is nature and how our body goes. At some point, you can't keep up and then you look like Joan Rivers or Kenny Rogers!

Lay aside life-harming heaviness and entertain a cheerful disposition.

I'm growing old that's for sure, I don't know how gracefully I'm doing it. If I had lots of excess money I would get an eye job and have my sagging neck taken care of. That said, I'm pretty happy about the way I'm ageing.

In my 30's I always said grow gracefully, meaning no surgery. No sagging skin in my 30's. Now 60 I've had a little help surgically speaking and I couldn't be happier. I am very healthy and active and why not look like you feel on the inside. I love when people tell me I look like I'm in my late 40's.

It also depends on the community you are surrounded by. I am from Los Angeles, enough said.

Well I dye my hair, shave my legs and pits, use anti aging skin products, make-up, wear push up bras. Yep I guess I am trying to look younger. I wouldn't do any surgery, but I wouldn't mind some facial treatment to remove wrinkles, but not a facelift. Also would like some treatment for spider veins.

I would like to think that is still trying to grow old gracefully.

I'm growing old, don't know about "gracefully" though. Never dreamed or worried about age when I was 35 though, but the culture now wants women to look like they are 12 years old. I'm 66, and a first time Grandma, and want to enjoy that, so we exercise for 2 to 3 hrs. a day.

no plastic surgery to look younger....
but I believe a healthy lifestyle makes you look and feel younger than your actual age.
I believe in growing old gracefully, I also believe you look younger when you update your style to todays style in a way that compliments your age.

I say no to facelifts and the like. I have a friend who was a beautiful girl. She had a car accident and had a small scar on her forehead. She went to a plastic surgeon and he talked her into letting him smooth out lines etc. He was a very reputable surgeon as well. now she looks far older than her years. And it did not stop and one surgery oh no. She looks like a frak now. If she just would have left well enough alone..

No to facelifts, but toying with the idea of covering the grey. I've never dyed my hair and was sure I never would, but now that the grey is coming in more I'm not sure.

I love that my husband says I do not have grey hair - I have silver hair.

I'm of the "grow old gracefully" mentality, for the most part. I do dye my hair, but not to cover up grays (even though I have a couple). My natural color is a light brown with a lot of blonde highlights, and I feel like I look better with dark brown hair, because I have such pale skin. My SO likes it dark as well.

My mother did have an eyelift done, but it was for medical/sight reasons. The bags above her eyes were impeding her peripheral vision, and her health insurance covered the surgery. At first she looked really funny, like she was surprised all the time, but now it has settled a bit and she looks normal. So, I think if it was a situation like hers, I would go under the knife but otherwise, no thanks. Both of my grandmothers are/were beautiful ladies (one has passed), and neither of them ever had any surgery.

Sort of funny about my one grandmother though. She always kept her hair short and it was always dark with a bit of grey. Then, she had a stroke and after that, her hair slowly turned to almost all silver. We just thought it was because of the stroke. She ended up passing away and when we were cleaning out her house we found a bottle of black hair dye and a comb stashed away under her bathroom sink. Turns out she had been coloring her hair herself for probably years. Just funny because she was not a vain person whatsoever... lived during the depression, wore the same clothes for decades, etc.

One thing I might maybe maybe maybe do, if money was no object, is a breast lift. I'm already unhappy about the direction the "girls" are headed so someday a lift would be nice... heh

I'm almost 50, but I've been told I look much younger than that, I thank the good genes from my mom, because she looks young for her age too. I color my hair, but I've been doing that for years because I just wasn't happy with the natural color.

I don't intend to have any cosmetic surgery. 10 years ago I had to have a bilateral mastectomy for cancer. I've been through radiation and chemo, and I've been going through chemo for the last 3 years, so I'm not subjecting my body to any surgery that is not medically needed. I also opted not to have reconstructive surgery after my mastectomy.

I was bald for awhile when I had my first chemo 10 years ago, and I guess because of going through that, I'm not as self conscience about my looks as I use to be.

I believe everyone has to do what they feel makes them happy, and if that includes surgical procedures, that is ok.

I am 38 and just started noticing gray hairs in the last couple of years. I've never dyed my hair. I'm pretty pale and feel that if I start looking washed out with lots of gray hair I might try some dye. I'm pretty lazy about hair so in reality I probably won't bother to maintain that kind of effort.
I wouldn't have a facelift or injections or anything to look younger. I'll look the way I would naturally look as I age.

I color my hair not bcoz of gray hairs but bcoz I just like the color.

That said, I do have a few gray hairs here and there, but I don't really worry abt them.

I just color for fashion's sake.

Other than a rinse to cover these greys (Since I am way to young, fly and cute for that just yet), no FACELIFTS for me please.

Luckilly I think my blonde hair hides any greys I might be getting, because many of my friends around my age (early-mid 30s) are starting to deal with them. I've never colored my hair, and I hope I don't have to as I am also too cheap and low maintenence for proper upkeep. I wear lots of sunscreen, especially because I live in the sunniest place on Earth (legit, like Guiness Book Record holder) and I'm pretty fair. My husband, however, likes to ride his motorcycle without a helmet and always ends up sunburned. So if he survives until 50+, I fully expect that everyone will ask him how he landed such a hot young wife (he's about 18 months older). Here's to clean living and aging gracefully!

I had vowed never to dye my hair, but my daughters and daughter-in-law convinced me that my face was too young to keep it grey...And I guess it was confirmed the other day when a stranger asked my DD Glitterfairy77 and I if we were SISTERS. emoticon

HA! Yes. My blond highlights. I can save $8 a month if I don't color my hair anymore.

For now, I'm of the "grow old gracefully" mindset.

But I suppose I may change my mind at some point.

I am not too keen on subjecting myself to general anaesthesia/surgery unless my health or life is on the line. So I'll probably find myself just dealing with the wrinkles and loose skin that come with age and a large weight loss. Probably.

So far I haven't had to worry much about my hair. It's still about 98% brown, though those greys that are sneaking in (and multiplying) really do stand out against the dark hair. Grr.

Goal 1 - break 200 (46 pounds lost)**DONE**
Goal 2 - leave obesity behind (BMI 29.9, at 185#) **DONE**
Goal 3 - BMI = Normal (154# or less)

I affectionately call my grey hairs my "blonde" highlights. LOL !!!

I've been getting grey hair since my 30s. I refuse to color my hair for the following reasons;

1) I'm not ashamed of my age.
2) I'm too cheap to pay a decent hairstylist to do it for me.
3) I'm too lazy to do it myself. ;)

Dyeing one's hair requires a lot of up keep and if you want it to look natural, you should have a pro do it.

Will I ever get a face lift ? If I ever win Megabucks I might do something with the dark circles under my eyes, but that's about it. For now, I really need to remember to put on sunscreen or a hat before I go out. I'm too old for freckles, but I've gotten more of them as I've aged and it's because I haven't been wearing at hat in the harsh sunlight.

On the plus side, I do think I look pretty good for my age. must be the clean living. ;)

I absolutely love your hair cut ,the color is gorgeous, and it made you look even younger! I was trying to write and tell you this the other day but my computer was messing up and would not let me. I will grow old gracefully, fake stuff makes a face look like the joker in batman. Hair coloring is good, paint on nails and toes and such, but botox and all that distorts the face.

I intend to grow old gracefully, but I'm doing my best to retard the whole process, especially now. I'm 35. I drink LOTS of water now, and do my best to maintain a plant-based diet. I moisturize. However, I've been dyeing my hair since I was 12. I have been going gray since I was 17. My temples-are almost completely silver. You ever hear "If you pluck one gray hair, ten more will show up for its funeral?" Yeah, so my hair, when it's not dyed is pretty salted. I don't know if I'm ready to stop dyeing my hair yet. I got my hair CHOPPED off about a week ago, mostly because my hair was so crispy and frail due to over-dyeing. It is so much healthier now, but every time I look in the mirror, I see the silver, and...even though I have EARNED it...I don't know if I'm ready to own it yet.
emoticon (That's me doing the "ARRRGH" of indecisive frustration.)
How about you? Are you just letting things happen as they may, or what?
