This question isn't a scape goat for me at all. I'd much rather be healthier and lose the weight and have lose skin than not.
But I want to know-- Do stretch marks mean your skin is less likely to bounce back?
My goal weight is 140, which means I have roughly 66 lbs left to lose. I also have pretty bad stretch marks I got in college. (Oi, college.) I'm only 21, and I'm a wee bit concerned about it now.
Now, it will NOT stop me from losing weigh and loving myself. Those things are necessary and wonderful. But I will say I am concerned.
I plan on losing no more than 2lbs a week, maximum-- And honestly, most weeks, I'd be shocked to lose more than a 1/2 lb on my calorie budget. (I eat 1800 a day, because my body feels best around that number.) I also know that bounce back has a lot to do with age and genetics.
But stretch marks-- Are they relevant? Has anyone with stretch marks bounced back?
