Never tried it as I have a real life personal trainer for my race season each year...and it is the type of thing wherein it is better to have the coach there in person vs on the computer.

This is just my personal opinion

I think it's great if that's something you want to do. I have thought about it but not sure how it works.
Is it an informational video or do you interact with a spark coach? I might have trouble working online meetings in if it's interactive.

I wouldn't hesitate for a minute for paying for the spark coach though. This is a wonderful, supportive, weight loss website. The best I have ever been on. I would also pay a monthly fee for access to here. I get way more information, help, and tools, here than my previous program.

I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

Losing weight is hard.
Maintaining weight is hard.
Staying overweight is hard.
Choose your hard.

A thirty minute workout is just 2% of your day.

I have been with SP for five years. LOVE IT with all my heart! Love that it is free, and love all that it offers! Met some great Sparkfriends on the site! I used the free trial week Spark Coach offered, and I joined before it ended. I LOVE Spark Coach!!! It is an extra boost of motivation and keeps me more on track than just SP. Keeps me so much more accountable! On my bad days, it gives me instant encouragment that to just have a better day tomorrow. On my good days, it gives me instant woo hoo moments! I would be upset if Sparkpeople ever charged a fee, however, I don't mind paying for extra Spark Coach feature, it is so worth it.

LORD, turn my setbacks into comebacks!

Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.
Leave the rest to God.

I haven't tried it, but I have heard some members love it because it gives them the extra motivation they need. Weight loss is not a one size fits all thing. Some people can lose the weight all on their own but others need the help from a coach. The community forums and member blogs are all the motivation I needed to get down to a healthy weight.

Is it wrong to fight time, to turn it back or push it forward? Time was never mine.

I think of it like the trainer I paid for at the gym. Motivation to go, but only works if I use it.

The main reason I chose SP is because it's free. I've spent thousands of dollars on weight loss programs over the years, and never reached goal, and always regaind the weight and more when I stopped going.

The change in mind-set, for me, is that SP is making me, not someone else (leader of program) responsible for my weight loss, and it's working!

I feel that all the information and support I need is available - free of charge - from SP, so I do not plan to use Spark Coach.

SP is a wonderful program, just as it is.

tried the free trial myself. All it did for me was take up more of my time on the computer, which I don't need.

I think it's a nice option for people who want a little more access to support from the coaches via email. I tried it for awhile and it didn't add much value for me.

Have you tried Spark Coach? What are your thoughts? The only thing I've noticed is they give you a "free trial" but then if you try to "email a coach" during your free trial they tell you it is only for paid members. I mean....if your going to give someone a free week trial.....give them a free week trial! geez. That being said I haven't noticed any benefit that I get from it that I can't already get from the site itself. Just wondering your thoughts on it?
