I will stop drinking diet cokes for Lent, and hopefully forever. I only drink one a day,but I think that is one too many.

I cut them out almost entirely over the past year. The only time I'll drink some is if my mom brings home fountain diet coke, which isn't often.

I drink sodas. I drink diet pepsi. It does give me cravings though. So, I have cut back on them. I will drink only one 20 oz a day, and the rest of the time I'll drink water.

Phil I would get off the diet soda and try to go just plain water. Aspartame is not healthy for you and has 92 side effects. None of those side effects are good. It is just plain poison for your body. Don't be tricked into thinking diet is a better choice over regular soda. Neither is a good choice. I know it can be tough giving it up, but once you do you won't go back.

Of the 7 people I know who still drink soda, they say they have cravings for certain foods whether they drink sodas or not, or diet sodas or not, they actually admit that they just Love certain foods and won't blame sodas for that feeling....................

I use to drink a lot of soda every day. The real thing, coke, would help me not gag and seemed to settle my stomach. It was tough stopping but I think it was the right thing for me to do. It's been we'll over 3 years since I've drank Coke daily. Water seems to be way better, and I splurge on a Fiji water once in a while when on the rare occasion I go into the gas station proper.

I wouldn't say that soda causes "cravings" for me, but.... it does have some "associations." Just like when i quit smoking, for a long while i had to avoid coffee. Because the two ("coffee and a cigarette") were just so blended; one was like a trigger for consumption of the other. I feel like that with soda. Soda.... plus doritos! Soda... plus fast food burger! Etc. So i am better off without it altogether, for the time being at least.

Doesn't affect my cravings or anything, but I don't drink pop these days. We have a SodaStream that we got as a gift but don't use much these days. I do enjoy making ginger ale use yeast to carbonate it.

I no longer have any personal experience with soda. Really, really unhealthy.

diet coke which is what I drank never gave me any cravings. I was drinking a lot of that but now I am down to 1 or 2 a month. I just don't worry about what little I drink.

I would say it took a period of YEARS to wean myself off of soda. But now I really do not have any cravings for them at all, thankfully! I only occasionally drank regular soda. They were just so very sweet; too much so. (My "history" with them was mostly in college.) Then I went to diet sodas. In a strange way, it was the cold, fizzy drink that I looked forward to during my afternoon break or after school when I was teaching. Then I moved to flavored seltzer waters and enjoyed those for a long time. Gradually, I began diluting the seltzer w/ plain water & ice cubes. Now I aim for 3-5 20 oz bottles of WATER every day!

Soda does not quench my thirst. I prefer to drink water; no ice, plain.

I do drink diet soda. I am sure it is no good for you, but I can't seem to give it up-yet.

Drinking diet soda makes me ravenous. If someone can drink them without cravings, I think they are a better option than regular soda.

It can. Some research has shown that artificial sweeteners can be linked to increased cravings. I haven't found that to be true in my case. Experiment with it. Drink water instead of soda for a week, and see what happens to your cravings!

I guess in a way I am lucky. I never have liked carbonated beverages much. They give me the worst and loudest hiccups and I have never felt that anything besides water actually quenches my thirst. For me the only thing I regularly drink besides water is my morning coffee.

I used to drink pop everyday, but about a month ago I stopped. I craved it for the first couple weeks, and now I don't want it at all. I found when I did drink it, I wanted saltier foods like fries, but this could be because I usually had one with the other.

I used to drink diet coke and diet pepsi, and yes it did make me wanna snack more and I did slack drinking my water when I had a diet soda or two during the day. I have stayed clear of them for going on 3weeks and dont even crave them anymore. My wallet is fatter and waist line is getting smaller.

I have a question for you to consider. When you drink sodas, does it increase your cravings for food? In addition, what soda do you drink? I drink caffeine free, diet sodas. I do think I have more cravings for food after I drink one. Thanks! Phil
