Consider whether they're old enough now to clear off their own plates and put them in the sink or dishwasher. It's less temptation for you and more independence and responsibility for them-- win-win!

Good job! I try my best to get my kids to eat what I eat so it's not so tempting. However my son has a metabolism disorder and the nights he has hot dogs and mac and cheese are tough! Give yourself a pat on the back!

Depends. In a restaurant, I get a doggie bag. At home, I put just so much on my plate.

My parents expected us to eat everything on our plates. Guess what? To this day I generally eat it all (except when I'm smart enough to ask for a to go container at restaurants).
It's hard not to graze on family leftovers....when you abstain, not only do you not add extra calories, but you also stay healthier--since you're not sharing germs with your little peeps. :)

Great! Every victory is one step closer to where we want to be. I have started a habit of letting my husband clear the table after dinner and have avoided a LOT of plate cleaning!
